Back to work in the office 2-3 days/week in a senior role. I have a 15 minute brisk walk at either end of the train ride, 1 hour total, great for steps but need decent walking shoes. I'm of the short and busty persuasion and need to smarten up above average to counteract the frump factor enough to just look average, and a smart shoe with a bit of a heel is a big help. Pre-pandemic, I used to wear trainers for the commute and swap to ankle boots or formal shoes once in but I really don't like the faff of a bulky bag and having to change - and in this post-pandemic era of white trainers and denim jackets it also seems a bit try-hard. I've worn my smartest leather trainers to work and felt scruffy (but comfortable), and I've worn my flattest suede loafers and felt more professional (but nearly gave myself shin splints). Has anyone cracked this?
