The definitive day to evening holiday sandal???

Prettypussy · 11/05/2022 20:52

Right, well, this might already have been done, but what sandal will be perfect for holiday evenings in the medittereanean? It needs to go with everything, be comfy enough to walk quite a way from accommodation to the centre (down a big hill) and be a little glam but till casual.

I usually rely on a scrappy metallic flat but they suddenly feel a bit dated. Was thing instead a gold or silver platform or footbed sandal but DH thinks the ones I like look like slippers.

Price aside, what do thou think of these?

I have the Sézane Mia sandals in gold and brown. I find them really comfy but elegant enough to wear in the evenings

DSGR · 11/05/2022 20:57

And I love R&B but hate their stuff this season..! Indeed like slippers

bellamountain · 11/05/2022 21:00

They are nice OP! You could also try Saltwater www.salt-watersandals.com lots of nice styles and colours and comfy.

Prettypussy · 11/05/2022 21:01

Yes, sandals similar to the Mia ones in gold are my usual style- fancied something a bit more 'trendy' this year though. Maybe not then...

I like avarcas - menorca leather sandals - may be too casual but you can get silver etc. Example link

I have also had saltwater in the past but found them too wide for me once the leather had given

Can't get better than London Fly sandals, I buy a new pair every year so have quite the collection in a variety of colours. They're so comfortable and look great.

Prettypussy · 11/05/2022 21:15

I like those @paradyning !!!

Gold Saltwater sandals. Come in a few different designs. Lovely with a tan and a dress but you can also swim in them.

Jagley · 11/05/2022 21:34

I have some lovely blowfish Malibu sandals from last year that are strappy with a bit of a shimmer to them. Very comfy.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 11/05/2022 21:48

I bought these today. I find gold or tan good for all holiday clothes.

How about some Hermès Oran dupes from Dune?

The first pair are Dune the second Hermès.

I have these which might be too chunky for the evening depending what you've got in mind. I'll certainly be wearing them in the evening

Verite1 · 12/05/2022 16:35

I like those esska ones. I have just bought some similar air and grace ones. Very comfy. sorry - phone not currently allowing links!

but yes - the r and b ones look like slippers!

BigSandyBalls2015 · 12/05/2022 16:40

Oh I clicked on this thinking you said scandal .....

Franklin12 · 12/05/2022 16:44

I have 5 pairs of day to evening sandals from R&B. I cannot recommend them highly enough. You see Marks or Dune trying to copy and they are never as elegant or stylish. Even the ones with thin straps just last and last and I go on holiday a lot!

Definitely try them on though. I have tried the ones you have linked to and I didnt find them that great (and I do NOT need any more shoes!)

florianfortescue · 12/05/2022 16:51

I love the R&B fisherman's sandals, I have these ones in an animal print (from last year)
