Fitflop fitting-help please!

I ordered some Lulu leather toepost sandals which arrived today.
First time with Fitflops. My feet can no longer stand cheap primary sandals.
These had good reviews. I have virtually flat feet and arthritis on the tops of my feet.
I've gone for a size 5 as reviews said they will stretch.
However when I put them on my toe just reaches the toe posts as the strap across my feet won't let my feet go any further iyswim.
Does anyone here wear them and can confirm that they will stretch to allow my feet further in? It's a lot of money to spend if they don't ever 'give' at all. Tia

They do stretch a little but not that much so really depends how tight they are on you. They do do some half sizes in the Lulu

I am a half size and rounded up in fitflops but I don't have that pair.

I have lots of Fitflops but not that style. That sounds like they just don't fit at all. I find their sizing generous. I'm a 6.5 but I wear 6 in Fitflop. Can you swap for a different style?

Greyhare · 12/05/2022 22:18

I cannot fit my wide feet in fit flops in that kind of style, I prefer Birkenstocks as they mostly have adjustable straps, the Mayari are very comfy and fit my wide feet.

Thanks for your replies. I've decided to return them. I have had Birkenstocks before but find them quite heavy although they are comfortable.

I find Fitflops comfier than Birkenstocks @whimsicalwillow so don't give up on Fitflops altogether. It sounds like maybe you received a weirdly sized pair or just a style that didn't work for you. Try another style. Personally I don't find toe post styles very comfortable so I'm looking at the Gracie style.

@WhereAreWeNow I think I'm going to find a stockist near me and go and try some sandals on. It's a faff having to return stuff isn't it.
They have such good reviews I'm going to persevere!

I have the Gracie and they are so comfy. I prefer them to my Birkenstocks but wear both depending on how I feel. They look nice with ankle length jeans. I sized up a half size. I probably didn't need to but my feet swell in very hot weather!
