Are these as awful as they look to me?

Going through my junk Mail this morning and reading one from 'Stylist Loves', which I must have subscribed to at some point, I came across these www.lkbennett.com/product/FSJOLENENAPPALEATHERYellowLemon~-Lemon (sorry, I've forgotten how to do links).

I'll admit to being totally, totally out of touch as rarely leave the house (covid + disabilities/health issues = hermit), but are these really fashionable and indicative of current fashions happening now? Added pic in case link fails.

Would love to know your opinions on them! 😁

Sorry, I can't seem to post the photo as it's not coming up in the 'allow more photos' thing and I'm not sure how to add it to the list. I thought I had because the 'choose more photos' box came up and I clicked on it taking me to my photos, but somehow I managed to still mess it up! No idea how I can add 'permission' to them now from here.

Well. I couldn't wear them but I do like them...great for outdoor events on grass as no spike heel. Love the colour too

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 11/05/2022 11:46

Sorry, again(!), but I forgot to include asking opinions on the price as well please. A measly £269. Surely loose pocket change for all of us 😂
(Btw I have no desire to buy them, regardless of price. I wouldn't buy them in a Primarni half price sale for even £5!)

IMO these are fairly ordinary sandals with a quirky heel. They aren’t fashionable particularly, theyre in the category of “regular with a twist”. Conservative and ‘amusing’.

Chaoslatte · 11/05/2022 11:48

I suppose they would mean less sinking into the grass than stilettos but yeah they are pretty awful and I wouldn’t be seen dead in them!

0dette · 11/05/2022 11:48

Apart from the weird heel they look at bit BHS to me.

nearlyspringyay · 11/05/2022 11:49

I wouldn't wear them but I don't find them objectionable.

Mercurial123 · 11/05/2022 11:49

You really want people to hate these sandals OP? This style was out last summer. They are a bit dated but they are not ugly. There are far worse posted on here.

RollOnWinter · 11/05/2022 11:50

They're ugly! The heel is strange, the knotted front bit is horrible, and the colour is washed-out looking.

Asimhereanyway · 11/05/2022 11:51

They are awful.
The front twist looks way cheaper than they are, like a faux leather shiny sandal you would get at New look or Primark or something, and the heel reminds me of those plastic laundry balls some brands had you fill with product and put in the drum with the washing!

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 11/05/2022 11:51

@godmum56 @KalaniM thank you for your replies; it is definitely the heel that I really don't like. In fact, I barely registered the rest of the sandal because my eye was so drawn to the heel, although I did note both colours offered seem to be a bit insipid. Full disclosure; I didn't even click through the photos (if there's more than one on there) and all I can remember apart from the heel and colour is that it might possibly be in a knot style? I'll go back and look at the other photos and the whole sandal, but the heel is the bit that I really dislike, so shall see what I think of the style.

Spotted the round heel at Kate Spade as well. It’s fine but will be outdated and unfashionable sooner than a block heel.

@Mercurial123 absolutely not wanting people to hate them, no. As I said I was genuinely asking if these were what was seen as being fashionable as I am so out of touch with fashion, and what did people think. And I did say that being disabled and due to covid I have literally rarely left the house for 2 years so haven't seen what people are wearing and wouldn't have been aware if they were fashionable or 'in' last year either. It's a genuine question from someone whose main dya wear is also night wear. I have many pyjamas and dressing gowns/robes tho!! 😆

That’s exactly what they look like! 🤣

WeddingFavour · 11/05/2022 12:25

Personally I hate them but heeled mule sandals do seem to be in fashion at the moment. Not my style at all

LookItsMeAgain · 11/05/2022 12:30

Primark (or Penneys to some) have these which are a fraction of the price:
Primark/Penneys slip ons

Silversprinkles · 11/05/2022 12:36

Yeah they are grim and definitely don't look worth over £20 never mind £200++

mogtheexcellent · 11/05/2022 12:39

Its even worse in the pink colour.

The kate spade wedding ones are hilarious. It took a while to spot the cake. Shame its not a proper snow globe. snow globe cake shoes

SirChenjins · 11/05/2022 12:39

Primark will have a knock off version for about £15 - and they'll be in the sale in a few months! They're not great looking and a bugger to walk in - I remember having a similar pair way back.

MiddleNameJane · 11/05/2022 13:53

They'd probably look nice on a pair of tanned, manicured feet. You'd be looking at them from above so they wouldn't look so weird.

That heeled mule style would look awful on me though - curled toes gripping on for dear life! They look hard to walk in.

LookItsMeAgain · 11/05/2022 13:59

@mogtheexcellent - you didn't happen to see the tennis balls "New Balls Please" pair while you were browsing the ones with the snow globes?

New balls please

Silversprinkles · 11/05/2022 15:23

@LookItsMeAgain just waiting for the first influencer to show up at Wimbledon with those beauties on Wink

KimikosNightmare · 11/05/2022 23:27

They're awful. The front is pretty but the heels are awful.

Hollyhobbi · 11/05/2022 23:43

I can think of a lot nicer things to buy for €365🤔. And they actually look like they only cost €20 from Penneys!
