I posted earlier about tips for a wedding dress, and now I need recommendations for high heels, that are actually comfortable. Will be wearing them at my wedding this summer so need to be able to dance in them. I heard block heels are good, please recommend brands that are actually comfy. Looking for brightly colored shoes

Bumping! Would love to hear some brand recommendations as all the ones i read about in articles are presumably sponsored.

I wore my mustard yellow wide fit sandals with a block heel from next for my wedding 2 years ago and they were great! Very very comfortable.

My friend had these for her wedding and danced all night. These ones are out of stock but it might be worth looking for similar?

I’d recommend Chie Mihara really comfy and amazing colours. Not cheap though

When you said brightly coloured I thought of these from Joe Browns. What kind of style is your dress?

In terms of finding something comfortable:

  • the blockier the heel the more comfortable they will be
  • the lower the heel the more comfortable they will be (I would aim for 2-3 inches
  • open toe are more comfortable than closed as it relieves pressure on the foot
  • some cushioning / padding on the sole of the shoe will make them more comfortable so look for that
  • if they aren't comfortable on trying them on they won't get more comfortable on breaking in so pass on them

Thanks for the tips, am wearing the dress attached, so the green shoes would look nice I think. Thanks @feministqueen ! Will check out the other links too, @MollyVolley never heard of Chie Mihara, but in first glance, they look like the kind of shoe I was looking for

Chie are amazing shoes, but pricey. I have one pair (platform sandals) I can wear them all day.

The other wedge sandal that's super comfortable is Ugg but defo not with that dress

Yes to Chie Mihara!
I got some pink suede heels for my wedding last year- second hand but im perfect condition

I have a few other pairs I’ve bought second hand on eBay now, plus boots that are now 14 years old and still lovely.

they are so beautifully made that if you buy a pair in a colour you’ll still be wearing for special occasions in 20 years. They have resale value too

If the Chie Mihara don’t suit then Esska are a bit cheaper and great colours and glamourous comfy heels. They do great sales too

@girlwhowearsglasses oooh I'd never seen Esska before they have some lovely stuff! Is their sizing good?

I love Esska. They come up a bit big on me as they're good for wide feet but they have some lovely styles.

I have narrow feet and Esska come up my usual size. They are great at metallics, and the soles are always comfortable. They have good medium height glam sandals and platforms. P;us the boots are ace

Also recommend Esska. Got a pair of gold Valerie sandals and was able to dance all night comfortably at a recent wedding. Saving for another pair now!

I'd quite like some Russell and Bromley Topform
Topform or Disco queen . I saw the Topforms recommended in the Sunday Times Style section a couple of weeks ago.

or you could go for Terry de Havilland if you wanted really high.

Thanks, will check out Esska, as long as they are comfy as I am not good with heels
