Please give me your best mascara. I have hooded lids and not particularly long lashes, which due to menopause are also thinning.

Nothing I use now gives that long, thick luscious look which is the effect I want. Thick and false rather than long if I had to choose.

I can't afford extensions anymore.

If I was a millionaire I’d still use this. It can’t be beaten, it’s gorgeous and makes my pale lashes thick and full and gorgeous. Great staying power, incredible value.

Have you tried a lash serum? I use rapidlash and my eyelashes are now ridiculous!
For mascara I like the essence princess false lash (green writing)

Vaseline on my eyelashes at bedtime has kept my lashes full and supple and I went through the menopause ages ago!

Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara is my number 1!
Also - Lancôme Hypnose is great too

2 Faced's Better than Sex Mascara is the BEST. Its amazing you would not regret getting it.
I loved Dior Extase for years then they inexplicably discontinued that, Better Than Sex is similar i.e. chunky wand, build able layers without clumping

If you're after length you need a long, thin wand.
The Essence ones get the most rave reviews.

..giving Essence a go for that money. Clinique do one called (iirc) Lash Enhance or sth that gives length.

I've never found a Lancome one that impressed me despite their reputation as the best mascaras.

I love love love urban decay lash freak. I previously used better than sex by too faced which I thought was fab until I found lash freak! Like green tube

I tried the Superdrug MUA but needed many coats for my lashes. So I think it’s definitely a volume that I’m needing.

I will try the Wilko essence as recommended. Thank you. Have tried the Lancôme Hypnose previously, Dior, Estée Lauder Sumptuous.

My favourite used to be Hourglass but then it stopped making a difference.

I don’t get on with the lash serums I’ve tried, my eyelids react to them though I haven’t tried revitalash. Liking the sound of the Vaseline.

I use an Essence waterproof one (blue and white tube) which is good.
The Essence Princess one recommended upthread is very good for length and volume, but I found it smudged awful on me; it left a row of dots above my eyes. Of course you might be fine but just something to bear in mind if you have hooded eyes.
Barry M mascaras are also good and only about £6
