Jewellery boxes - do you keep them?

If you buy a piece of jewellery and it comes in a nice box from the jeweller, do you keep the item in the box? Or keep it in a bigger jewellery box?

I have a stackers jewellery box and keep most things in there but I've still got a lot of mostly empty boxes which I should really chuck as they cluttering up my drawers.

I know I am over-thinking this! 😂

I put the boxes in the bin

Yes. I keep all jewellery in the individual jeweller's boxes they come in.

If it's something with a good name you could flog later, I'd keep the box, otherwise bin.

Don't throw them away - sell or donate them. Online jewellery sellers who buy in bulk/house clearance and so on often like boxes to add value to their offering; or a charity shop might appreciate them for the same reason.

The only box I've ever kept is a Liberty ring box as it's so pretty.

I haven’t, but I wish I had.

I mostly get rid. I've kept 2 or 3 in the boxes, the more expensive or branded things. In all honesty largely part being conscious of resale; I don't like to keep things I don't actually wear and prefer to put it back out into the ether and buy something that fits with my current style/needs.

If it was sentimental I'd possibly keep the box but I'm not mad on jewellery so have very little and wouldn't want to be gifted anything expensive, I just think it's a waste sitting in the drawer.

I bin them. Otherwise it's too much clutter and too much faff opening them all,to find the particular piece I want to wear. Occasionally if it's a pretty box (and not branded) I use them as a gift box for jewellery that either wasn't boxed or came in an ugly box.
