What to wear with this dress?

I have this dress to wear to a christening at the end of the month but I have no idea what to wear with it so that I don't freeze. I'll put a vest top and probably some cycle shorts underneath, possibly thin tights depending on what shoes I get, but I still need something over the top. My normal solution would be a cardigan or smart jacket but I don't think they'd work with the (gorgeous) batwing sleeves, and I'm not sure a scarf or similar would be practical with a 2 year old in toe. Any suggestions?

Are you sure you’ll need something over the top? Those sleeves are a nightmare for wearing anything over but it looks lovely as it is. No chance it’ll be warm enough?

@Echosound I'm always cold so I doubt it will be warm enough without anything unfortunately. The dress is quite thin fabric and I'm expecting the church to be quite chilly (although I've never actually been in this one so who knows)
