Are Converse high tops comfortable

I think I'd like to get a pair but am wondering if they're comfortable. Also are they easy to put on?

DC live in them. Just asked them...Apparently, they are as easy to put on as regular converse - you loosen the laces. The fabric is soft so doesn't rub.

DailySheetWasher · 08/05/2022 00:03

They take some breaking in, they're a bit stiff to start with. Thick socks. I don't have the laces tied further than I would in a low top pair.

RiverSkater · 08/05/2022 00:05

They are very flat and there is very little cushioning. I used to be able to wear them but not anymore!

SugarNspices · 08/05/2022 00:06

Not really tbh but they look cool

BonjourCrisette · 08/05/2022 00:08

Very comfortable but I think it's dependent on foot shape! Mostly from my experience people with narrow feet love them. If you need lots of arch support, they might not be what you are looking for.

stilldumdedumming · 08/05/2022 00:13

Dd has just got herself a new pair. They have an extra thick sole and she's bowled over by how comfy they are.

EllaPaella · 08/05/2022 08:26

I find mine really comfortable- I wouldn't wear shoes that weren't. I have the ones with the thicker sole, maybe that makes a difference in terms of comfort. I wore them for three long days walking and sight seeing around Liverpool last weekend and they were absolutely fine.

pennysays · 08/05/2022 08:31

you’ll find lots of threads on here from women like me who can’t wear them anymore because they’re not enough support. I love them but I can’t wear them all day because the soles are thin and have no arch support. They don’t suit wider feet either.

20viona · 08/05/2022 08:33

Yes Iv worn converse high tops
For years my latest pair are the platforms and they are nowhere near as comfy as the others though.

OceanAtTheEnd · 08/05/2022 08:36

I don't wear Converse anymore - the thick but very flat sole doesn't work for me.

liveforsummer · 08/05/2022 08:57

Depends on your foot shape I think, I don't have wide feet but they pinch me around the widest part of my foot like no other shoe I've ever worn, had one suede pair that were an exception but they were also fleece lined.

BaaMoon · 08/05/2022 13:41

I find them horrendously uncomfortable.

TheTeenageYears · 08/05/2022 13:44

They are really bad for your feet (as told to me by an orthopaedic dr when DD had foot pain and wore them to the appointment). Completely flat and very little support.

TheMooch · 08/05/2022 13:50

I don't find them comf . But I can't do heels either.

Was told they can damage your feet in the long term, but not sure how true that it or perhaps there is a long queue at the orthopaedic clinic due to converse.

theshadeofgreen · 08/05/2022 14:09

I don't have particularly wide feet but my little toes hate me if I wear converse for more than an hour, they seem to rub like crazy.

Lovinglife45 · 08/05/2022 14:14

Converse are not suitable for long walks or wearing all day. They seriously pinch my little toes after a few hours and I have narrow feet.

I have converse high tops but they are platform ones, and I find they really comfy.

Floydthebarber · 08/05/2022 15:09

I love them. There are loads of different types and I favour the suede kid with a lining and cushioned soles. Might pick up a canvas pair for summer though. Fine to get on in a rush as long as you remember to loosen the laces when you take them off.

Floydthebarber · 08/05/2022 15:11

I do like a very flat shoe, always have done but my wide splayed out toes don',t get squashed in them. I've had other trainers with rubber toecaps that bruised my nails, converse just seem to suitme
