Flip flops - any way to reduce noise?!

I know, I know 😆the clue is in the name! I have to wear flip flops to a posh do (I have back problems) but I don't really want to draw more attention to myself than absolutely necessary. Any tips, Wise Ones?

Get some with the strap at the back then they won’t flip or flop.

God I hate the noise of flip flops

Sorry OP,, not helpful

Do they absolutely have to be flip flops or would something like this work? They won't flip or flop.

I tried almost exactly these but found them uncomfortable unfortunately

How about a slider instead? I have some like this from Accessorize last year and they don't 'slap' as much as a normal flip flop.

Tit tape along the insole?

Or get another pair of sandals that stay on?

Sandals/sliders. There is never an excuse for flip flops 😅They are so flat they won't be doing your back any favours either.

BigDayToday · 07/05/2022 18:36

I don't think they're great for your feet (and therefore your back, presumably) are they? Not because they're flat 🙄- feet don't come with heel rises naturally - but because of the way you have to walk i them.

I wear absolutely flat and flexible shoes (so called 'barefoot' brands) but never flip flops! I'd agree with those saying something with a strap might be better.

I was going to suggest something like this. When they're more moulded to your foot shape they feel a bit more comfortable (supportive?) and don't seem to make as much racket!

Bamboo ones are better!

Or sea grass, I have some from Monsoon, not these however the same sole and they are quiet www.accessorize.com/uk/plain-seagrass-flip-flops-9950000352.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIo_Xtg9TP9wIVQbDtCh2mGgKdEAQYBCABEgJekvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

This post made me laugh🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have some BRIGHT yellow smiley crocs which make a loud and vulgar squelching sound when I walk in them barefoot and the sound is absalutely horrendous but I love them.

Tried talc but it makes no difference because my feet are as flat as a pancake.

Crocs do have a strap which causes my feet to rub!

🤣🤣

etulosba · 08/05/2022 13:22

Walk differently. Like they do in Asian countries where flip flop wearing is common.

The locals slide their feet along the ground without actually lifting up their heels, so no flip flop noise.

Unfortunately, the shuffling noise is just as irritating.
