Can this work if you're not a model?

I'm not ready to give up on bikinis yet but have had two babies so I quite like the idea of something inbetween like this in principle.

But do you think it only works if you have these model proportions? I'm quite petite and slim, but a little flabby! Medium chested (usually on the smaller side but currently BF)

Thoughts?

I like it! The cross over should enhance your bust & with the pattern detract visually from a less than perfectly flat stomach.

VintageGibbon · 06/05/2022 12:05

Yes it can work. Flattering but way less revealing than a bikini.

legoouch · 06/05/2022 12:06

I think it’s a universally flattering style for most women unless you’re very slim/straight proportioned. Try it on!

mynameiscalypso · 06/05/2022 12:07

I don't know. I'm a bit flabby particularly in my stomach and I think I'd just get blobs of fat poking out of the cut away bits. I think a bikini would look better.

ViaRia · 06/05/2022 12:13

Looks promising. I’m in exactly the same position as you… where did you find this costume? I might like to try it as well

Timeforanamechang · 06/05/2022 13:23

Thanks all, that's positive!

The ad for that swimsuit keeps popping up everywhere I browse so I guess "The Internet" knew that's what I was looking for. I love the colour and pattern, I guess I'm just a bit worried that it is too 'pretty' and I should stick to plain clothes that make me invisible! But hey, you only live once!

@ViaRia It is from cupshe.com, has anyone heard of it before? Now that I want to buy it, I've just had a closer look at the reviews for the company and they are a bit mixed.

Try pour moi they have had similar in the past.

Suzi888 · 06/05/2022 14:57

Yes, or high waisted bikini bottoms if your tum needs support.

JMAngel1 · 06/05/2022 16:22

I think it looks great and would be quite forgiving.
I've ordered cupshe swimsuits from Amazon -you may have more protection if you buy it from there in terms of returns etc. .Fwiw my cupshe swimsuits have been very good quality - thick, hold you in fabric in interesting styles.

I'd be worried about this as well.

@JMAngel1 great tip thank you, glad someone has experience of the brand and likes the Quality!

@mynameiscalypso @SparkyBlue yes that is a worry. My flabby bit is more at the front and bottom rather than sides, hips and higher up, so am hoping I can get away with it but will try and report back!

Brilliant they are thick and well made as well much better than I expected them to be as their advertising/pictures appear a little....I don't know cheap/catalogue like???

I can't describe why!!!
