Which season do you prefer dressing in?

As the sun makes an appearance I realise yet again how much easier I find it to dress in the summer. I think it’s primarily to do with shoes, I find most closed toe boots and shoes cut my leg off and makes them look shorter, whereas sandals do the opposite even if flat.

But overall just seems a lot easier to achieve an effortless look, when not worrying about endless layers and coats.

I am a naturally cold person so rarely find it too hot, although when it hits about 32 degrees even I start feeling it and then it is hard as I like to be covered up mainly!

Definitely summer. Would love to live somewhere where it was warm enough for shorts/t-shirt/sandals for most of the year.

SparkyBlue · 06/05/2022 14:00

Autumn winter without a doubt

Veryverycalmnow · 06/05/2022 14:15

Autumn/ winter! Boots, woolly tights/ leggings, dresses, coat, scarf, hat, gloves!

tolerable · 06/05/2022 15:25

bedtime/any weather

IrishMamaMia · 06/05/2022 15:32

I love spring and autumn. Have some nice pieces that work for the inbetween days. I commute into central London and it's so warm in the summer, I have an additional wardrobe for that time of year. Winter is not very forgiving for me, I look very dumpy.

Purplehonesty2 · 06/05/2022 15:44

Summer!! Dresses and sandals or jeans/shorts and vest tops and fleeeeeep flops!

I just love summer - but I live in the north of Scotland so we only get a few days of it!

orangeisthenewpuce · 06/05/2022 15:53

Summer. I love wearing sandals instead of shoes or boots.

mewkins · 06/05/2022 16:06

Summer is easiest, followed by winter as it is pretty easy to wear anything with black tights! I find spring really difficult. Even when sunny it can be cold so I never know what to put on my feet.

Boood · 06/05/2022 16:25

The only thing I don’t like about summer dressing is that it’s rarely warm enough, especially in the evening or the air-conditioned office, for bare legs- so I’m restricted to trousers. If I lived somewhere properly hot I’d always say summer.

I like every season and love getting everything out again after I haven’t seen it for months. But I like the seasons to do what they’re supposed to- not be wishy washy in between rubbish.

GreenAcorn · 06/05/2022 17:11

Either summer or winter, I hate the in-between weather, never know what shoes to wear, tights/no tights? boots too warm, flats too cold, etc.

tokyotea · 06/05/2022 17:17

I love autumn as I love all the layering and comfy jumpers jackets etc. I also love autumn colours as they suit me. I quite like spring too but I don't tend to show off my arms/legs etc so prefer to be more covered but lighter and looser clothing is nice. Winter and summer and just extremes for me.

tuliplover · 06/05/2022 18:00

Autumn. I love the season and the clear crisp days and the snuggling knits. I find summer the hardest simply because I am overweight and do not like exposing my arms or legs and do not like the heat. In fact the image that helps me stick to my diet is wearing a sleeveless top or dress!

ChilledMocha · 06/05/2022 18:10

Winter. I hate being cold or hot, but find it easier to control the coldness! I especially hate any sweat (outside during exercise). I'm also finding it difficult to find any good quality clothes for summer (cotton or linen), too many polyester clothes

DownTownAbbey2 · 06/05/2022 19:03

Definitely Autumn for me, each year I go a bit mad and buy a lot of Autumn clothes. The colours really suit me as do the long dresses that are around at the moment.
I find Spring the most difficult although buying a few shackets this year has helped.

ChocolateRiver · 06/05/2022 21:12

Loath dressing for summer. Nothing ever looks good and I’ve no idea what to wear. I like Autumn best. It’s cool enough for jumpers, boots and nice jackets but it not usually too cold, wet or windy.

blitzen · 06/05/2022 21:15

Autumn and winter. Boots, opaque tights, jumper dresses, coats.

astorsback · 06/05/2022 21:31

StarlightLady · 06/05/2022 12:55

@astorsback - Knickers are an optional extra for me with long summer dresses, but don't tell anyone will you? 😂

😁It's a free world!

LadyCatStark · 06/05/2022 21:39

on non workdays, summer definitely. Shorts, tshirt and converse. I feel so much freer in shorts. On work days spring and autumn when it’s jeans and a jumper weather.

Zazdar · 06/05/2022 22:54

Summer. My husband said to me at the weekend that he would be happy if was 30 degrees every day. I said 30 would be good as a base but I’d like it to hit 40 once in a while.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 06/05/2022 23:37

Autumn.

I would prefer the temperature never to go over 20 degrees - not a fan of summer.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/05/2022 00:18

I love summer, but find it much trickier to dress nicely. I like a midi-dress/trainers combo, but the endless hair removal (I am white but dark/hairy) is a pain. Also in Scotland so each day is a gamble weather-wise.

i hate being cold but I find dressing for winter so much easier. Love nice knitwear, boots, faux fur and so on. I resent spending money on summer clothes because they might not get worn. Winter clothes are a cert.

Sunnytwobridges · 07/05/2022 04:16

Definitely the fall and winter. Love boots and jeans and blazers. I hate summer, it’s too hot and I hate short sleeves and shorts. Only thing I miss in the fall/winter are sandals as I love showing off my pedicure 😂

LunaTheCat · 07/05/2022 05:39

I hate winter and prefer summer*spring/autumn clothes.
I like feeling free in light layers.
I avoid tights like the plaque - I hate the sweaty feeling.

AlannaOfTrebond · 07/05/2022 10:26

Summer, I feel like me again. Just chuck on a dress, jumpsuit or shorts with some flipflops and done.

I hate winter, a million layers, pale skin so need makeup, my hair doesn't like it so needs blowdrying after every wash.

I want to move back to the Mediterranean.

EspeciallyDistracted · 07/05/2022 10:50

I'd prefer the temp to be permanently 20 or below too, above 16 is fine for dresses, shorts, tee shirts but much hotter than 20 is yeuch.
