Eyes allergic to sun cream

If I apply sun cream to my face a short while later my eyes start to really sting and swell. It's not that I've gone the cream in them, but it seems to be getting worse. Anyone else get this? I'm wondering if it's something in the cream. I had if after a facial once while driving home and had to pull over as my eyes were so bad I couldn't see.

I need to find some sun cream I can actually use before the summer!

I have this OP and if you find a solution I would be very grateful to you. I find La Roche Posay the absolute worst.

It fries my eyes even if I wash my hands carefully afterwards.

I will join you in a plea!

Swelling of the eyelids is a sign of allergy. A stronger reaction (eg swelling of tongue, lips, throat or v low blood pressure can be life threatening). Stronger reactions can occur when exposure is repeated. For this reason, I would seek advice from GP as to a safe way to test what suncrtam may be appropriate - they may be able to seek advice from an allergy specialist too.

Use only mineral sunscreen. I am allergic to all chemical ones.

The baby hypoallergenic ones that are white zinc based creams don’t react on me but often the greasy ones do. Sainsburys & lidls own brand ones have been ok. I can’t do Nivea at all.

I found Clinique doesn't sting my eyes. I find the worst products are day creams with SPF.
