Hi

I've ordered this dress for a wedding and was planning to wear it with nude shoes/sandals, bag and possibly fascinator - but what wrap/cardigan/jacket could I wear with it?

prettykittyfashion.co.uk/products/dark-green-floral-cap-sleeve-crossover-v-neck-wrap-top-swing-dress?_pos=5&_sid=c8e0dd8f1&_ss=r&variant=30331010777137

TIA

That's so pretty! The sleeves mean that it's not meant to be worn with a wrap/cardigan/jacket though, in my opinion.

Stillbloodyraining · 05/05/2022 13:32

I did wonder about that @dudsville but I hate being cold - plus it's over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend which will probably put the kibosh on it being nice weather😃

It's a lovely dress!

I would actually opt for brighter shoes rather than nude, as I feel like nude is not all that current. I think a pop of colour would look stunning for a wedding. Would you consider a block heel sandal in the coral shade of the dress for example? https://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/carvela-second-skin-heeled-suede-sandalsR03842706/?previewSize=EUR+39+%2F+6+UK+WOMEN&cmmmmc=PLAGooglegle--WOMENS--CARVELA&POR=Y&utmmsource=google&utmmedium=cpc&utmmcampaign=nanaapla-bnaananaaDOMPLA-SHOES-SSC&gbraid=0AAAAADr4D5gmuGwnUV6q9qOZRFRE3g41k&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl9ank67I9wIVl4BQBh26VwWPEAQYISABEgJphvDDBwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#colour=ORANGE

If you are set on nude, perhaps you could try a mule heel which would bring it really up to date?

Eg

In terms of coverage I agree with the pp that a loose jacket might be a good idea, perhaps worn over your shoulders when arriving.

Would you consider a head band piece instead of fascinator?

I'm envious of you getting to style that gorgeous dress!

Redcupbluecuppa · 05/05/2022 13:41

Just seen your update OP. If you're worried about rain you could always wear a lovely tailored trench coat?

Stillbloodyraining · 05/05/2022 15:06

Those Carvela sandals are lovely but I'd never last more then 10 minutes in them.

I think I will wait for the dress to arrive to see what the actual colours are like and go from there (and keep my fingers crossed for at least dry weather).

My thinking with nude/neutral was that I could then wear them with other things, but I am not averse to some colour. Annoyingly I did have some coral kitten heel slingbacks bought for a previous wedding years ago. Only ever wore them that once and then ages later got rid.

I'd go gold instead of nude - nude shoes are a bit passé now.

maybe a wrap like this (from Etsy) to solve the bulky sleeve problem?

Good shout @Tryhard40. I do have some gold sandals that might work.

Gold or nude yes, don’t go for a “pop of colour “ even the expression is bad (sorry to the poster)

fascinators are the work of rhe devil and few people can carry them off. I’d really not put anything on your head.
