If you like Estee Lauder Double Wear...

Have you tried Futurist Hydra Rescue? Omg it's amazing! 💜

I've worn DW for years, never found anything to compare and I've tried pretty much everything. I had a John Lewis voucher so tried the Hydra Rescue. It's got the staying power of Double Wear but runnier and just the slightest dewy look without looking a sweaty Betty or oily.

Just thought I'd share 😊

Completely agree!!! I love double wear and, even though I need good coverage, I preferred it for when going out. Tried the futurist and it is a great buildable foundation require and gives the dewy look.

WeeM · 04/05/2022 23:05

Oh I’ve never even heard of it! I’ve been thinking about changing my DW for a while but haven’t found anything yet. Had fancied giving that Il Makiage a go but unsure. Will check this one out thanks 😊

Isn't it fab? Dewy/glowy always worries me as I think I look sweaty but this is fantastic!

Thanks so much for this, I use DW but am looking for alternatives because apparently it doesn't photo well!

Rina66 · 05/05/2022 05:48

I love DW, mix mine with Iconic London glow drops and EL Advanced Night Repair serum to sheer/glow it up a bit. Does the Hydra Rescue have the same non transfer properties as DW and are the counters doing samples? I'd love to try it @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor.

I'll wear it for a fill day today and let you know about wether it transfers, I only tried it yesterday , seemed the same as DW though initially. Can't see why counters wouldn't do samples,I always find Estee Lauder fantastic for generous samples.

Aw man I really need a new foundation, but I'm oily! DW doesn't seem to be cutting it for me anymore now I'm older, but I'd go near anything dewy my face is a greasy mess by lunchtime.

Does anyone know anything other than DW that is matte?

If it helps I have dry skin and the huda foundation, fenty and Lisa Eldridge were all disasters on me and way too drying

TonySmart · 06/05/2022 09:42

Thanks, I'll give them a look.

Sodthatforagameofsoldiers · 06/05/2022 09:45

Oh good tip.

I'm currently mixing no7 hydraluminous and il makiage. Both good but not perfect.

Could you mix something with your DW?

I’m the same @TonySmart , I feel like my DW is now starting to sit in my fine lines and crease whereas it never used to do that. It’s still good on the shine breakthrough though. I’ve tried a couple of revolution ones-crap…sat in lines even worse than DW.
I’ve been told Charlotte Tilbury airbrush is meant to be amazing but it’s expensive so I’m reluctant to order although they do apparently give you a refund if you’re not happy with it.

I'm mixing Estée Lauder Revitalising Supreme CC Cream with Il Makiage at the moment as I like a fairly light coverage and I'm really pleased with the results.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/05/2022 08:03

Thanks. Will try to get a sample. Love DW but it needs time to layer it up over a moisturiser plus fixing spray and cream blusher to make it not look like a mask on me these days.

TonySmart · 07/05/2022 08:25

@WeeM I head the same about the CT foundation, and it was matte. But it's horrible. It's so thick and cakey, really hard to blend, and left me looking streaky. It then went really blotchy with solid cakey bits after a couple hours. I'm not a fan.

dudsville · 07/05/2022 09:07

I'll check this rec out, thanks! Since the pandemic and mostly home working I've switched to cheaper The Ordinary for daily use, and am still using up old EL, though I use their camouflage, not ELDW. When that runs out I'll try this!

That’s so disappointing- I feel like there must be a holy grail out there somewhere! Stupid me has just realised that the one OP has suggested is also EL 🤦🏽‍♀️ Lol. I might try and get a tester from a counter.

as an experiment today I tried mixing some Dw with my Ordinary serum foundation which I usually wear on holiday. I don’t seem too oily so far!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/05/2022 00:51

I didn't realise Estee Lauder do a CC cream, I'll check it out.
