Deeply moisturising hair mask recommendations please!

What reasonably priced hair masks can you recommend?

My thin, fine, shoulder length hair is very dry after being neglected for a while. I used to use the olaplex treatment and condition with wella salon conditioner, which worked really well, but I can't afford them at the moment.

Any recommendations of deeply moisturising masks would be appreciated, as I want to get my hair cut, but I'm not venturing into the salon until my hair is no longer a tangled mess!

Thanks.

My hair sounds like yours. I like Garnier naturals banana hair mask. A big pot for nothing very much. Available everywhere

Aprilsun1 · 03/05/2022 11:23

Thank you, good to hear about something that works.

I really the Bleach London Reincarnation mask, it has worked wonders for my hair.

vitahelp · 03/05/2022 11:26

I have heard great things about the Bleach Reincarnation Mask mentioned above. I've got it now (ordered from Boots) but only used once so can't comment on results yet.

Aprilsun1 · 03/05/2022 11:29

Thanks for the Bleach Reincarnation mask recommendations too. Looks like boots is the place to go, I can spend my points ☺️

Garner but variety

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 03/05/2022 14:46

The Garnier Banana Hair Food (in big tub) has been a revelation for me! Having tried all sorts and spent a small fortune I held off trying this as I thought it couldn't be that good given the price. I was wrong. It's hands down the best mask I've ever used on my hair. I leave it on for 5 mins with my hair wrapped in a towel and then rinse out.

Aprilsun1 · 03/05/2022 15:00

Thanks for the replies. I've not managed to get to shops today, but hopeful that my hair will be silky smooth after tomorrows trip!

I tried the banana hair mask and it didn't do anything for me. I co-wash (I don't use shampoo) so my hair isn't overly stripped by shampoo but even so that masks did pretty much nothing for my hair.

I like to use the Palmer’s coconut oil protein pack every few weeks. Used it before getting my hair cut for the first time in years and the hairdresser said my hair was the softest she’d ever felt. They’re about £2 in boots and Superdrug

Fizzyfish · 03/05/2022 16:43

I just like to use ordinary coconut oil, left on overnight

FlickyCrumble · 03/05/2022 16:46

I use frizz ease that comes in a pot. Leave it on for as long as possible and after rinsing put a bit back on the ends of your hair. How much is trial and error but I’d say put it on half way down using about a teaspoon amount.

I have started using L'orel dream lengths detangling shampoo and conditioner, they also do an 8 second Miracle water which I use weekly. They do a hair mask which I used last night for the first time and it's great. I take medication that makes my hair thin and fall out so I find it matts really easily and this has been the best shampoo I have ever used I can still get a brush through my hair the next day which for me is unheard of. Boots have a sale on at the moment they are all half price and I think on 3 for 2 xx

PurpleDaisies · 03/05/2022 17:04

Another vote for garnier. I switched my shampo, conditioner and hair mask to the coconut oil and macadamia one. Never been better.

RaininSummer · 03/05/2022 18:11

Like the Garnier ones but don't use them if you have coloured hair as it seems to strip the colour out.

FrayKay · 03/05/2022 18:40

Another vote for the Bleach London Reincarnation mask. I tried it after reading about it on here and I couldn't believe how much it transformed my hair. I have tried dozens of hair masks and it gives the best results. I also have the Olaplex mask and I think the Bleach London one gives much better results on my hair. It is also reasonably priced too.

midsomermurderess · 03/05/2022 19:24

I like watermelon hair food

ArtVandalay · 03/05/2022 19:27

Yet another vote for Bleach London.

I also love the Curlsmith Bond Rehab Salve - but that's for curlies.

Aprilsun1 · 03/05/2022 19:31

Thank you for all the replies, and good to see the same ones recommended. I feel confident that I will come away from my shopping trip tomorrow with a good hair mask. 😊

Kerestase cicaflash is amazing!

Aprilsun1 · 03/05/2022 20:01

Thanks for the Kerestase cicaflash recommendation too. Unfortunately out of my price range currently.

I have purchased and just used the Bleach London as recommended on this thread. Only the first use, but my hair has not felt this soft for a long time!
Where all others have failed, this seems to be the one that works..
Looking forward to using it again Smile

Howdidthathappen1 · 06/05/2022 22:16

Hair syrup - started as a one woman business in lockdown on tiktok - my teen daughter bought it and my thoughts were its obvs rubbish until I tried it!! Now on third bottle. Its a pre wash oil treatment and is seriously good

Aprilsun1 · 07/05/2022 10:15

Good to hear another positive opinion about the Bleach London product. It was out of stock at my local branch so I plumped for the Garnier Banana mask.

It's improved my hair a little (it was very neglected) so I think I shall leave it on longer next time. Suspect my hair needs a prolonged period of tlc and a good cut!

I am still curious about the Bleach London conditioner though after all the positive reports, so keeping it on my list!

Hair syrup will be one to investigate too, thanks.
