A belt for jeans without the bulk

dolphinsarentcommon · 03/05/2022 04:28

I need a belt that isn't bulky around the buckle to wear with jeans and casual trousers.

Because my waist is almost a size smaller than my hips I need one to actually work, but they all look horrible under a t shirt. I'm fairly slim, and I want something than doesn't bulge under a t shirt.

Does anyone have any ideas what to look for please?

Why not take your jeans to a seamstress & have the waist taken in so that they aren't as bulky at the waist then you can wear any belt you like? In future try odd size jeans, if your hips are a size 12 & your waist is size 10 try size 11 jeans that have some stretch in them.

If I were you I’d probably be wearing low rise jeans and trousers with a lower waist, rather than high rise if you see what I mean?

SonicWomb · 03/05/2022 04:41

@Nat6999 where do you find size 11?

AbleCable · 03/05/2022 05:03

I have not tried this myself, but have seen this suggested before -

Google 'elastic belt' you might find something.

Hi.. it's not so much the jeans that cause the bulk, it's the belt. All the ones I've tried are too thick and bulky around the buckle at the front, making t shirts etc a strange shape

As a pear shape I find low rise jeans incredibly uncomfortable. I was forever hitching them when that style was all I could get.

I got this recently. I don’t like restrictions round my waist or heavy belts

These are incognito bulk-wise and come in lots of colours.

Bramshott · 03/05/2022 09:41

I find a D ring belt is less bulky than a buckle one.

DailySheetWasher · 03/05/2022 11:14

The elastic ones above that are open at the front are brilliant, I call mine my 'drinking belt' as I don't have to fumble with a buckle on my many urgent trips to the loo on a night out!

I use one of these for the same reason as OP and it’s great! Not pretty, but if you’re wearing something over the top it’s fine, totally adjustable and no buckle to dig into your stomach

WrinklesShminkles · 03/05/2022 17:48

I have the same problem and found a cheap elastic belt from h&m with a two part clip rather than a buckle solved.

@Nat6999 where do you find size 11?

Anywhere that does their sizing in inches instead of 10, 12 etc. An 11 is a size 29 waist. H&M do them plus many branded jeans such as Levi's.

Was also going to suggest an elastic belt. So much more comfy and less bulky. Can find them a lot in equestrian brands as work with breeches etc as well as jeans
