What shoes with this Toast dress?

Could anyone suggest shoes to go with this dress please? I adore the dress but not wild about the shoes in the pic and I’m perhaps hampered by not being able to wear high heels. Would love to hear what footwear others would choose.

The shoes are ludicrous. It seems to be a thing on many sites- show beautiful dresses with wildly inappropriate shoes. Erdem does it as well.

As for shoes - plimsolls, (think Martha Hancock) , ballet flats, espadrilles, kitten heels, Doc Martin's

I’d wear with white trainers or with doc Martin’s

The dress will be fine with trainers, Chelsea boots, wedge espadrilles, heeled ankle boots, DMs, sandals.

Oh so it’s not just me! That is reassuring, and thanks for all these suggestions - time to do some trying on

I have that dress and although I normally wear flats it looks better with my forties style shoes and sandals that have a chunky heel.
