dd is in shopping heaven!

fishie · 10/01/2008 17:19

there must be a reason for that, perhaps it isn't produced in proportion so the smaller among us look daft in it.

MamaG · 10/01/2008 17:20

or maybe teh shops think there are more minis than there actually is!

You are right. I used to be a size 6/8 and bought my slobbing around the house casual stuff from GAP kids. Cheap as anything.

KaySamuels · 10/01/2008 17:22

IMO I think the shops produce the same amount of each size, thus the less average sizes are always plentiful on the sale rails.

I am average shoe and clothes size and very rarely find anything nice reduced.

of people so petite. The only person I know who fits in a 6 is the same age as your dd mml. I wonder how many mners are actually a size 6.?

MamaG · 10/01/2008 17:22

I think I was last a size 6 at age 10!

MamaG · 10/01/2008 17:36

My ex Mothers Help, who is a good friend now, is a size 6.
She is also a lovely person, very good looking and quite curvy just has a tiny frame.
My DS (and DD) adores her and says 'Darlink' with a Slovak accent.

queenrollo · 10/01/2008 18:48

i'm currently back at a size 6 after losing weight through stress (i'm desperately trying to put some back on)......but i was a size 6 for years and where i live had to order size 6 clothes in because they never stock them.......and they never bloody fit right anyway. i'm petite, i have very slim hips and horribly skinny thighs and clothes are always cut wrong and look all baggy on me.

where are all these size 6 clothes in the sale? i feel a shopping trip coming on

PanicPants · 10/01/2008 18:56

I used to be a size 6 before ds. Now a 10. I LOVED being a size 6 (apart from it being really hard to get the right fitting clothes).

at all those size 6 MOTHERS out there.

Peapodlovescuddles · 11/01/2008 15:36

I'm a size 4-6, have NEVER been able to put weight on, trust me it grinds after a while if people ask if you're ill just because you're so small...I don't look ill I'm just not very big ok!
Or when people think its ok just to go, 'gosh you're skinny' i wouldn't say OMG you're HUUUUUGE to a random person in tesco would I?[silly people]
And I can never find my size in the sale! I don't think anyone ever can...

Peapodlovescuddles · 11/01/2008 15:38

oh god, don't hate me now will you...
I'd much rather be a nice size 8-10

OracleInaCoracle · 11/01/2008 15:44

i was a size 6 for years pre-ds (anorexic) and went up to an 8 after i had him and size 6 clothes do seem to be cut oddly. they just hang wrong.

agree with peapod tho. one woman i worked with told me that i looked dreadful, was too skinny and should eat more. my reply was "you look dreadful, youre too fat and should eat less" soon shut her up. why do people think its ok to criticise someone for being thin but not for being fat?

mosschops30 · 11/01/2008 15:45

agree everything i wanted in the saes was either a 6 or 18 so totally opposite ends of the spectrum.
Oh ditto size 6 or 7 feet
Its very annoying cannot find anything 8/10 or size 4 anywhere in sales normally

lou33 · 11/01/2008 15:46

i get lots of my t shirts from the kids department, so i dont pay vat on them, and then in the sale on top lol

lou33 · 11/01/2008 15:47

but i am not a 6, am an 8

NineUnlikelyTales · 11/01/2008 15:48

I am size 6 and believe me, they only bring out the size 6 stuff at sale time. It is literally not available at any other time of year. Give us a break, it is nice to have choice for once!

CountessDracula · 11/01/2008 15:57

Same for larger sizes

Monsoon was FULL of size 18, 20, 22 in the sale

inSanityClaus · 11/01/2008 18:39

Not now it's not. All in my wardrobe

pukkapatch · 11/01/2008 18:49

hmm, so if i continue on my diet, and lose a stone instead of the six pounds i want to,i will save a forturne in clothes?
currently a sixe ten. how much should i lose then please?

NineUnlikelyTales · 11/01/2008 19:46

You might save a fortune pukka but you'll be forced to wear a lot of polyester office wear.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/01/2008 19:50

Bought a topshop size 6 top by accident and it fitted - delighted (and astonished)

DD has now nicked it though

Still stupidly pleased about size 8 next jeans that I have.

What does it matter really (but it does!)

handlemecarefully · 11/01/2008 19:52

I wouldn't want to be a size 6. At my more prodigious size I feel that I can handle myself and am invulnerable

dinny · 11/01/2008 19:53

how tall are you size 6 people? and how much do you weigh?
