Teen Bridesmaid Dress

Has anyone any suggestions for a dress for 13yr old bridesmaid - her input is that she would like something high at front and back and preferably long. Flexible about colour. Size 8 adult clothing. Thanks!

Have you tried looking at Wild & Gorgeous? Daft brand name, 🤣 but some really lovely clothes that might bridge the gap between the little girl bridesmaid look, and adult evening dresses. They are expensive, but for a bridesmaid dress I’m assuming that you might be spending a bit anyway.

(There’s a silver grey long dress by them in size 12-13 on eBay at the moment - that kind of empire line style might work!)

Thank you. Haven’t heard of this brand before. Will have a look.

Have you looked at JJs House? We've ordered a dress for dd's prom from there, it's not arrived yet (shipping takes 3-4 weeks) so I can't vouch for them yet, but they have a really good selection.
This is what dd has chosen but it might not be very bridesmaidy with the split.

They also have junior bridesmaids dresses that go up to age 16, maybe something like this?

ASOS, there's loads. Just search bridesmaid dress and filter by size. Like this one:

It is a good idea to get her to try on her preferred style and a few others as what she thinks she likes might not be the case once tried on. (Have just had a lengthy day dong just that with my 18 year old.) If you are able to go to a shop that stocks bridesmaids or prom dresses that would be a good idea. Failing that you might be able to buy a couple of really cheap secondhand prom dresses to try on to see if she likes the style (can always resell them) As its prom time at the moment there are a lot of dresses on ebay and VInted at the moment that haven't been worn due to pros being cancelled over the last two summers - a lot of dresses at under £30 and plenty at less than £10 to get a feel for style.

Have had a look but don’t like the cost of postage plus return if it didn’t suit and needed to be sent back. Thanks though.

Have tried ASOS but can’t see anything just right!

This is the American site (the .co.uk one has no browsable pictures for some reason) and it's no good if you don't live near one of their U.K. stores but we got DD's prom dress from here. This should be high necked, long dresses

@catsonahottinroof jjshouse gets very bad reviews on trustpilot. I'd suggest looking for a back up dress for when the one you ordered from them doesn't arrive.

Thanks, yes I read them after someone linked to them on another thread! It is a bit worrying and I'll look around for a back up, but lots seem pleased with them too so hopefully it will work out ok.

StyleHighClub · 04/05/2022 00:25

Thank you for all the suggestions! Working my way through them.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 04/05/2022 14:19

@catsonahottinroof I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, no one wants that dissapointment when you find a dress you like.

catsonahottinroof · 04/05/2022 18:31

DD is wearing one soon for a wedding (she’s a bit younger but likes roomy clothing). This dress is fab because it’s stretchy and flexible necklines so you can style it however your DD is comfortable:
