How do I apply fake tan

I have bought some garnier summer body, which promises me a natural glow. It says to apply all over, wash hands and then avoid contact with fabric.

How on earth does that work? Do I just stand there like a lemon whilst it dries? If so, for how long??

If I climb into bed are my sheets going to turn orange?

Help me oh wise women in my phone

Get a mitt to apply with, you can get one in the chemist's. You might have to stand about for a while, maybe 20 mins or so until it is touch dry, then put dark clothing on

I apply with a mit and use a kabuki brush to apply to face and neck, feet, ankles and then remove the mit and use the brush on the back of your hands. You can avoid the whole orange palms thing quite easily.

I don’t hang about for that long maybe 5 mins max and then wear strapless bra and put on loose joggers and one of my husbands t shirts. I use fake tan all summer long.

If you do get a mit, sometimes the mit moves around on your hand so I put a sock on my hand first. Sounds weird but works.

I wear surgical style gloves under my tanning mit as it always seeps through for some reason. Apply in circular motion
When dry/tacky I wear long sleeves because I find I fall asleep bending my arm and I don't know if the skin to skin sweats or something but I get left with a mess of dripped tan. Legs with a towel between for the same reason
And sleep on a towel or old sheet
