Newborn girl shoes

Where to get? I had a baby girl and I'm having a lovely time dressing her. I would like to get some little soft slip on shoes, maybe like little strawberries or something?

Any suggestions?
Thank you

Ps she weighs around 6lb so is very small

Seriously wouldn't bother, get cute socks or tights instead, their feet are so delicate

LilacPoppy · 30/04/2022 15:01

Why would you do that she isn’t a doll.

Clymene · 30/04/2022 15:02

She's a baby. She doesn't need shoes

BundtCake · 30/04/2022 15:03
Confused
ClinkeyMonkey · 30/04/2022 15:05

Eh? She doesn't need shoes. Shoes are for walking.

pedropony76 · 30/04/2022 15:05

I was just going to comment the same thing. Is there a reason why you want to put shoes on her, is it for a special occasion or something? Because as a pp said, I’d just get some nice socks or maybe tights.

There’s definitely no need to have shoes on a newborn. Their feet are TINY and it doesn’t benefit them in anyway. I’m actually looking at my son’s feet now (he’s 9 days old, 5.13lbs) and it just makes no sense to put shoes on him

This. Poor kid.

Hellocatshome · 30/04/2022 15:06

Get her some cute socks or when she is a little older those socks that are also rattles/toys for them to grab at. Babies don't need shoes.

DeanStockwelllsBunny · 30/04/2022 15:08

I really would not put shoes on any baby until they actually needed them . the bones in the foot are so delicate there are around 22 bones in a foot , it would be so easy to damage them esp while they are still so soft .

I dont know if it is thing / available but can you get socks / tight / oneis with a shoe pattern on them ? would that work for you ?

Tagliatellme · 30/04/2022 15:09

Congratulations on your new baby. You'll probably find she'll mostly wear a baby gro so her feet will be covered anyway.

MissNothing1991 · 30/04/2022 15:13

Actually shouldn't really put shoes on their feet until they can walk for a start. Secondly she is a living, breathing baby, not a doll

LoveSpringDaffs · 30/04/2022 15:19

Congratulations!!

As long as she's comfortable and not unsettled by being dressed, then you enjoy putting nice things on her,

given you were asking about little strawberries it ca safely be assumed you're not putting her in mini Doc martens!!

I would try the usual John Lewis type places and Google!!!

hope you find some you like!!

fossilsmorefossils · 30/04/2022 15:22

I didn't because I read somewhere that it's best to let the feet develop freely until they can walk (and even then don't wear shoes unless necessary). I don't remember where I read it so could have been fake news but DD doesn't wear shoes unless she is outside walking. It helps that I hate wearing shoes myself so I'm also biassed.

I assume you mean something like Robeez rather than actual shoes. They are great if you have a baby who takes their socks off! This sort of thing? www.robeez.com/strawberries-soft-soles-pink

not for newborns- when crawling and standing then fine

girlmom21 · 30/04/2022 15:45

Just let her feet develop. You can buy her cute shoes when she starts walking.

Greentomatoes21 · 30/04/2022 16:14

Aw, I'm sure it's lovely putting her in all the little outfits you've bought or been given. So glad you're enjoying her. You can of course get some lovely little soft shoes - John Lewis etc - and as long as they're not too tight then she'll be fine as I'm sure she won't be wearing them for long periods. Socks/bare foot is best most of the time but I'm sure you know that. Have fun!

Crawling babies shouldn’t have anything on their feet as it can hinder development. No shoes, especially hard soles, until they can walk steadily barefoot.

I’m presuming OP meant some sort of soft booties to keep feet warm which is absolutely fine for a newborn. But anything to jump down a posters throat I suppose.

You don't put anything on her feet until she's walking properly!!! Some socks for heat if need be but barefoot for the majority of the time.

Oh and by the way, she's a person not a doll for you to play dress up with. Jeeez!!
