Funeral clothes for teens

My children (girls, and 11 and 14) will be attending a funeral in 2 weeks. V formal, all black. The weather looks likely to be hot and the wake will be outside in the sun.

What can they wear? They have little interest in fashion and normally wear only jeans and t shirt. Older child has plain black school trousers which could go with a black top. They both have black school shoes.

When I look online everything is colourful or looks like it is for a nightclub not a church.

Any suggestions? Ideally online shopping.

I would imagine you could get similar school type trousers for your younger daughter? Sainsbury or Asda probably.
As long as they're not wearing psychedelic face masks I think most people accept teenagers and children don't necessarily own a suit/funeral type dress.
Don't worry too much, I'm sure it will fine 💐

Would small sizes in adult dresses be suitable?

Something like this black and white spotty dress might work.

Think black is normal wear for a funeral unless specifically told not to wear black, definable not very formal. Anyway black bottom half like you sat school trousers and a dark jumper or a white shirt/blouse.

Sorry - just realised you said all black.

I put mine in smart school uniform at that age, they had nothing black at all. So kilts and blazers and white school shirts and ties. Of course that might not work for you depending on what their uniform is. Is there anything in your wardrobe they might be persuaded to wear that would do?

Borrow something from my teenager

Online is your best bet. I find loads of black online but less in the shops.

H&M have some wide-leg trousers in black for £8.99 in the kids section. They would look smart, with a loose black t-shirt tucked in and plain sandals.

Your older DD could have a plain dress. Plenty in ASOS with short sleeves.
