Why have my nails gone like this? Help!

I've been trying to grow my nails for ages. I washed some pots at work today for about an hour or so and they've gone like this - transparent and horrible! Will they be like this forever until they grow now or should the white come back when they dry out? Argh!

I can't see the problem, mine always look like this , but less shiny

The white tips should come back when they dry out , mine always go like this when I go on holiday and when I swim a lot

Could it be oil/grease affecting them, if you've been washing greasy pots?

Oh I never thought of it being grease! 😞😢 I really hope they go back to normal!

Nail tips are clear if they are well hydrated, so guessing the oil has done that for you artificially. I think they'll revert fairly quickly. You could always use some nail polish if it bothers you in the meantime.

Mine have always been like that, it’s why I have acrylics.

Of course they’ll go back to normal.

File them a bit and put some nail hardener on. Definitely use rubber gloves next time.
