Wearing black for a wedding?

Is it acceptable?
I've bought a maxi dress in black with a multicoloured floral pattern, and a black lace jacket to go over it.

Yay or nay?

Yeah it's fine if it's got other colours in it too I think!

Plain black for a summer wedding - not really ok
Black with a pattern - absolutely fine

Thanks, yes the dress has lots of colours but on a black background.
I've put on loads of weight so this was the only dress I found that looked half decent on me.
