Tell me what eyelash extentions to get!

I'm looking to have eyelash extensions done just before our beach holiday in the summer. The aim is to still look OK while on the beach even though I won't be wearing make up. I don't want the ridiculous fake look - just something that will give me the same effect as when I wear lash primer and mascara. What style should I go for? I have heard of Russian lash extensions and believe those are quite thick and long. Is it correct you can also choose from different 'levels of curvature'? I want to ensure I don't end up with lashes what would look good with a full face of make up but silly bare faced. Or that won't make enough difference to my natural lashes. Help please. Thank you.

Book for extensions but tell the beautician / lash tech what you want! I did the same before a holiday when wouldn't want to wear make up and she matched my natural length but a tiny fraction longer and put in half the full amount so it wasn't insanely full lashes. Be warned - chlorine isn't good for the glue so you will need to keep your head out the water.

I would go for Classic Lashes if you're looking for a more natural look. Russians will be a bit full-on for a make-up free face on the beach!

Oh, and have a great holiday!

I had some Classic lashes a couple of years back, kept them going for months as they looked so good. They had plenty of length and volume and attracted lots of compliments.

What about a tint and curl instead. It makes a huge difference on me as I’m very fair. I had extensions once, they were good, but I did lose quite a few of my natural ones when they came out which was an interesting look. I hated not being able to rub my eyes and I found sleeping a bit odd as I sleep face down.

Go for classic rather than Russian, much more natural looking.

Thanks for all the replies. Classic it is. As for a tint and lift, I had that done before and it's not enough for what I'm after.

I’d ask for hybrids, they’re a crossover between classics and Russians. But again, speak to your lash tech, and go somewhere decent.

If they can fit you in immediately, unless they’ve had a sudden cancellation, its not a good sign!

mycatisannoying · 28/04/2022 18:45

Hybrids would still be too OTT.

And I know what you mean re LVL/lash lift, OP. It's great for day to day, but doesn't have enough oomph for any kind of wow factor.

HowIsItMarchAlready · 28/04/2022 19:09

I find that a lash lift is good if you add mascara. But on its on it's not much, at least if, like me, you already have dark lashes.

Yes lash lifts don't do enough for me either but I find classic lashes perfect.

Novolashes are fab. Very natural but make a difference if that makes sense. I love them.
