White spot under eye

I have this weird hard white spot under my eye that has appeared and got noticeably bigger so of a sudden.

Anyone know what it is and more importantly how to get rid of it?

I've attached a photo

Looks like milia (milk spots). They are keratin-filled bumps that form just under the skin. I get them around my eyes at times.

I've found the only way to remove them is to use a sterile needle, gently make an opening to squeeze it and a hard white ball will come out. This is the keratin. If you google milia removal you'll see some other ways, there are creams but I've never found anything to work other than opening the spot and getting the keratin ball out. But you have to be careful. A dermatologist can also help remove it.

I agree. I’d stick a pin in it and poke it out, but you’d want to be careful around your eye. A beautician can remove it if you’re less gung-ho (stupid) than me.

Thank you; not sure if I'm brave enough to put a sterile needle that close to my eye...

It's really annoying me so will have to get it removed.

Anyone know of anyway to prevent them coming back?

I've had these before and after some time they've just sort of dried up/detached and come away by themselves, leaving no trace - might mean a wait of weeks or months ago.

"Though", not "ago"

Oily eye make up removers can cause them.

Gentle exfoliation keeps them at bay

I read once that products with mineral oil in them can cause them. Not sure how true that is though!

Thank you all. I was brave and sterilised a needle and popped it. My under eye was a bit sore for an hour or so but got rid of it and nothing there now at all

Oh Yey, well done!

Its so satisfying when you pop it. I get less since using retinol. I miss them.
