I’ve just bought my first ever pair (as an adult🙈)

only a denim pair from tesco so didn’t break the bank and omg they are so comfy, dunno why I’ve never not bought them before.

so are they a fashion no no or would anyone here wear them?

I have two pairs-one black,one blue
i love mine-so comfy and apart from going to the loo,are really practical and the bonus is loads of pockets
(I just ignore the bob the builder jokes from dp-he’s hardly a style icon)

Yay

Don't have any myself but always think they look great on others.

saggyhairyass · 25/04/2022 13:11

They wouldn't suit me because of my heft. I think they suit a smaller person than I.

But Lucy and Yak do some lovely ones in great colours. lucyandyak.com/

Funnily enough, I just came back from tesco, and I saw those and thought they were really nice. I wouldn't personally, but only because I feel too booby for them. Some nice blue/grey very soft jeany trousers there too. I will probably get those. 😊

I bought some last year. I'm tall and slim but I didn't feel confident in them though they looked fine They are a bit marmite you either love or hate them.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 25/04/2022 14:17

I love them. So comfortable and easy to wear - and I feel like I'm wearing an 'outfit' with them on as opposed to jeans and a t shirt or jumper.

Someone on a previous thread said that they're for people who don't care about looking attractive to men. It was meant as a criticism, but I loved it and it made me buy more dungarees.
(I asked my husband if he found dungarees repellent, and he said they were no worse than the rest of my clothes Grin)

I love my dungarees, I get lots of compliments when I wear them.

My only advice is if you need to wee, go then, don't hold because rushing off a pair of dungarees whilst pressuring your post child pelvic floor to the max, can be a recipe for diaster 😂

WhoppingBigBackside · 25/04/2022 18:28

Have loads. They are loose enough for the straps to slip off the shoulder when I need the loo. I have a pair with a boilersuit-style zip too.

Don't wear a jumper over them

As for needing a wee, go when you can, Don't leave it until you're desperate

Adhdnewmedsnewproblems · 25/04/2022 18:32

Dungarees make me look like an extra large toddler but if you like them, wear them!

blackheartsgirl · 25/04/2022 18:57

There are some fab ones on Etsy,
I don’t know if I’m more suited to denim style ones though. I think I’d look like a big kid in the brightly coloured ones, although my friend has some and she looks great

I’d be scared to go out in dungarees in case I bumped into someone I know …

DramaAlpaca · 25/04/2022 20:19

If you like them, wear them. They're very popular at the moment.

I detest them and will never wear them again. I used to wear them in my teens when they were last in fashion, and I had a maternity pair, but they are not for me this time round.

HappyAsASandboy · 25/04/2022 20:44

I have recently bought the Tesco ones too, and I love them!

I've tried denim dungarees before and always looked like Andy Pandy, but the Tesco ones are great. Comfortable, flattering, don't sag at the knee ....

omgosh · 26/04/2022 08:31

nay

dontgobaconmyheart · 26/04/2022 09:55

It's a no from me. I've not got particularly strong feelings about it tbh and don't overly care what others are wearing but equally can't say I've ever seen an adult wearing them in real life and thought they looked good on at all, particularly when the dungarees are denim.

I see styled Instagram pictures occasionally that make them look cool but have ultimately put it down to one of the many things that doesn't translate to 'real' life, for me anyway.

I live in dungarees, they are my favourite item of clothing and I have 5 pairs, was just looking at another pair now. But I'm old and I don't care what people think of me so that helps.
