Winter coat help - New York

I am going to New York in February next year. Cannot wait.

it will be cold so I need a new coat. I am hopeful for something with a hood but no fluffy bit on the front, knee length that doesn’t make it look like I’m wearing a sleeping bag. Obviously, has to be warm. Is there such a stylish thing that’s not a plain black coat from Mountain Warehouse. Black is fine. I’d just like to look ok in photos. May be something that cinches in at the waist? Any suggestions. I am a 14.

Have a look at Parka London. I think the fluff is detachable on the hood, and there is a drawstring waist. I bought one from there a few years ago and although tbh I don't think it is anything 'special' (although it is VERY warm and practical), without fail every time I wear it I receive compliments. I also bought a great one from GANNI this year but you might think it looks like a sleeping bag ;)
