Nails for beginner

Might be time to do something about my finger nails. I’ve never had anything done to them and no idea where to start or what to ask for. I don’t want long ones, just natural kind of shape. I’ve got a couple of bitten and rough looking ones at the moment and wonder if smartening up my hands would be a nice thing to do.

If you’re going to a salon, I would recommend asking for builder in a bottle/builder gel. It gives your nails a layer of strength and is really god for growing nails out. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to keep them a natural length. Alternatively, if you’re doing them yourself at home I would recommend using the Essie tlc range if they’re all bitten down. This doesn’t need a base coat. Once you’re happy with your nails, use Orly bonder base, 2 coats Essie, and finish with OPI topcoat. Remember to oil your nails and cuticles daily (at least once a day, preferably multiple) and whatever you do, do not pick off the polish.
