Has the quality of Converse gone down hill?

I get some new canvas Converse about 2 months ago. I have worn them each week, some light wear and only once for a full day which was last weekend. They have split at the sides and the sole has come away on one of them. The last pair l had lasted for ages so lm wondering if the quality is lower these days? They are definitely real and not fakes

Yes, I was really disappointed with a pair I bought recently, they were wrecked before the pair I bought around a decade ago!

@Duckstuck so not just me then. My new ones are in worst shape in many ways than the last pair, which are way older and were delegated to gardening!

Yes, I think they have gone downhill. I have been wearing them for over twenty years and still wear some of my oldest pairs. I've binned newer ones which have just split. I sent back a pair of those recycled type ones - appalling quality and terrible fit.
