Dr Martens Chelsea boots - fur lined or plain?

What do you think are nicer?

Has anyone got either and can you comment on comfort?

Personally prefer the fur lined as they look cute but reservations are that the fur might get dirty and look grubby and might make my feet hot.

Any views on these boots? Big spend for me so just considering options

I've got the fur lined and love them. So comfortable! I've had them about 2 years and haven't noticed them getting dirty. And I'm always cold so my feet don't get too hot, but that might just be me Grin

I have the fur lined ones. They are my favourite shoes ever and I wear them to death on any day of the year apart from the very hottest. The fur still looks clean and I think because of it there was no “breaking in” period required like there can be with other styles.

They are £££ but cost per wear was an excellent investment for me. I use dubbin on them and they look better with age.

I have fur lined chelsea boots - not DM though - and they are sock eaters. I don't know if it's fur-related but they pull the socks off my feet and drive me nuts - I have to wear really tight fitting socks to stop it happening.

I have fur lined and love them. Had them3 years and they don’t look scruffy yet

Plain. Fur lined are too hot. Plain you can wear all year round.

Ok I had a fur lined pair come up on FB sales for £65 in my size and I haven't been able to resist for that price.

I have the plain DM Chelsea boots and wear them all year round! Look great with a floaty dress in spring/autumn and can cosy up with cosy insoles etc for winter time but I am Def tempted with the fleece lined ones for this winter (cos I'm always a cold tattie!)

Great but for that price! 🙂

I have the fur lined. All the fur has worn off! I have worn them a lot. But still. Pretty annoying and as a result I barely wore them this winter.

itsnotmeitsu · 22/04/2022 22:44

I have a black and a burgandy fleece lined pair. I love them both and didn't need to break them in. My first pair took me around Paris for a weekend without any problems. So glad I bought them, even at full price.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 23/04/2022 15:31

Also bought them full price and utterly love them. The fur is black so doesn't look grubby, they've also been very comfortable. I took about a week of wearing them wondering if I should have gone a size up, then have been perfect ever since.

Fleurtjeblau · 23/04/2022 17:41

I have two pairs, neither are fur-lined but I have always wanted some! If you like somewhere it's cold often, then definitely fur-lined, they look so so cosy!

Can I ask how you find the fit of DMs? DD10
has a pair and they look fab, so I’m really tempted but I have really wide feet and a v high instep.

Just like me!
i have two pairs of DM Chelsea boots and a pair of DM loafers.
just got my usual size and while they felt a bit tight at first, the leather seemed to loosen as it warmed up, so no pinching or rubbing.

Mamabananananana · 23/04/2022 18:00

I have two pairs of fur: a chelsea and lace version
they are well used in the winter i love them
in the summer i switch to my Dr M sandals!

orangeisthenewpuce · 23/04/2022 18:12

I couldn't ever wear fur lined boots. My feet would be squelching in sweat very quickly.

Fab thanks! I think I’m going to take the plunge. I think fit lined will be too hot though
