Glossy tights: still acceptable? And which ones?

I'm going to a wedding at the weekend, my dress is knee length. I've always worn glossy tights for weddings etc but are they still the usual thing? I'm 50. I find matt tights less flattering but maybe I'm behind the times.

If glossy is still OK, where will I get the best ones? I'm neither tall nor outsize but I always find the waist digs in, even when I get the biggest size.

I will wear them once then bin, so I don't need them to wash and wear well.

I don’t know if they’re acceptable but if they work for you then wear them. I just find that if I feel good in what I have on I can forget about it and concentrate on having fun.

Wolford are good for tights like that. Pricey but they won’t dig in to your waist.

I've never particularly liked them but they are still sold so it's really up to you - if you like them wear them.

If its any help OP, out in big City last week and noted that a lot of the young women were wearing very glossy light tan coloured tights (reminded me of the old American tan ones) with their summer dresses and boots/trainers, so they're obviously a thing. No idea which ones are any good though. I'm not very fashionable!

Marks and Spencer Bare Invisible have reasonable reviews, although I’ve not tried them.

I went with the Bare Invisible! They are lovely and light. Broke the MN law and wore them with sandals. Nobody died. Thanks all 😊
