Comfy(ish) high heeled sandals

I'm usually a boots person but I really need some high heeled sandals to wear to evening events in the summer. Can anyone recommend a brand or style that is (relatively) comfortable while still elegant?

I'd be happy to blow the budget on a really good pair!

Not a blow the budget option but the Linzi website has lots of heels in different heights and colours and I have found the high block heels to be pretty comfortable.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/04/2022 13:39

When you say sandals, how high and/or thin do you want the heel to be?

Platform sole and a chunkier heel will be more comfortable while giving you height.

I really like these but I imagine they are quite marmitey

Good for the Sole are comfy. Debenhams used to have them when we had Debenhams here 🥲

JaneJeffer · 21/04/2022 15:55

Also Marco Tozzi

Frogium · 21/04/2022 15:56

Have you tried fitflop?

HowIsItMarchAlready · 21/04/2022 16:44

I have these www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01H5WT1YG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1 and they are very comfy. I also have these but they are more open-toed shoes than sandals. But they are super comfy www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07C8G3NL8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

declutteringmymind · 21/04/2022 16:45

New look shoes are surprisingly comfy. And they have wide fit too.

Those TOMS ones are nice. How is the sizing?

bravotango · 21/04/2022 16:58

Alohas?

I can't see TOMS on the thread. Is this the new site glitching I keep hearing about?
ManUforthewin · 21/04/2022 17:49

@LadyOfTheCanyon they are on the first link in @HowIsItMarchAlready ‘s post. It’s not an obvious link to Toms as it’s an Amazon link.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/04/2022 17:59

Do you know I looked at those but I didn't clock they were TOMS. ThanksGrin

HowIsItMarchAlready · 21/04/2022 17:59

@ManUforthewin They are true to size. I bought a larger size because of the reviews but had to swap them for my normal size.

ManUforthewin · 21/04/2022 18:10

Thanks @HowIsItMarchAlready

schmalex · 21/04/2022 18:36

Thank you for all those suggestions.
I suppose I'm thinking 3 inch and quite a thin heel! Not asking too much.
I have heard that Gianvito Rossi are comfortable (for heels) but I don't know how much truth there is in that!

Esska, although the heels are usually quite chunky.

EvilPea · 21/04/2022 19:14

I’ve got some timberland wedges. They are years old and very comfy

BakeOffRewatch · 21/04/2022 19:18

Russell and Bromley for comfort. LK Bennett do good ones too. If you want to blow budget, Tamara Mellon do velvet cushion in their shoes which is meant to be like a cloud. I find Reiss shoes really comfy and they have wedges in at the moment. Pick something with wide straps so there’s not too much pressure on one part of your foot as you walk and quite secure (lots of straps or crossover) so your foot doesn’t move in it and rub.

this one comes in 5 colours www.russellandbromley.co.uk/topform/431999

Ooh wow, I hadn't heard of those Tamara Mellon ones @BakeOffRewatch. I'm very tempted! I need to go and try them on though...

Love all the other ones too. I'm not usually a wedge fan but those Reiss ones manage to look very elegant.

BakeOffRewatch · 21/04/2022 20:00

@schmalex if you like Reiss, these ones are in the sale, I love them, but you’ll have to wear them in at home until leather soft supple and bends with your foot, as it’s like a quite pressure on your foot before then. www.reiss.com/style/ST999648/U01639

schmalex · 21/04/2022 20:26

Those look awesome, thank you @BakeOffRewatch!

Omg I love these...anyone know where to get a cheaper version 😬
HowIsItMarchAlready · 22/04/2022 15:36

Not sure if Manolo Blahnik does sandals but his shoes are very comfy. I can easily walk in my 11.5 MB stilettoes all day, whereas I find all my Jimmy Choo Anouks (12cm difficult to walk in for any protracted length of time). So if MB does sandals you like, they may be worth a try.
