"Gold" plated necklace refurbish

I've got two inexpensive gold toned necklaces - I doubt that they are actually real gold plate but I really like them. The gold tone is wearing thin on both of them and you can see the darker base metal underneath.

Is there a way I can refurbish them - some sort of spray, paint or dip? I've seen metallic paints of various kinds but I don't want the paint to just rub off onto my neck when I wear them. Would be really grateful if anyone has any ideas or suggestions of what to do

Thank you!!

Meant to say - both necklaces have fairly large pendants - they are not just chains if that makes any difference

No not really. They could be re-plated but the cost would be more than they are worth unless they are a famous designer.

Can you find something similar on eBay or Etsy?

Could you put the pendants on new chains?

I do see some gold plating solutions on amazon but they are very pricey!
