What are you 14yos who normally wear chunky sole converse high tops wearing this summer? What’s the sandal equivalent?

Just wondering what I can steer dd towards so she doesn’t spend all summer including a hot holiday wearing her chunky high top converse or chunky sole doc marten lace ups

Doc martins have sandals, might be worth a try?

i thought Birks but I think the fact that I wear Madrid ones puts her off 😆

My 14yo wears exactly the same footwear (and leggings/trackies/oversized hoody combo) that she wears all winter...

Flip flops for holiday. Otherwise, she'll be fine in her Converse if that's what she wants to wear. I've never met a 14 year old who would contemplate Birkies.

Flip flops although I've ordered her some tan gladiator sandals for our holiday which she will look at and say she doesn't like.She might surprise me though.

just want her to be able to walk when we’re on holiday and not moan about sore or hot feet 😆

Um, I was about to say Doc Martens! ;-) (17 year old here)

and the converse all year round....

But she will wear flip flops, though is fussy about them (me too to be fair, so many are really uncomfortable) and rock shoes for swimming.

DD17 is still dedicated to her converse and Docs

My DD weirdly has the same sandals as me, just in different colours! Saltwaters. She seems quite happy with her middle aged women's choices. Normally wears converse and vans.

Doc Marten sandals for sure, I have Blaire’s and they’re super comfy

mine still insists on converse or airforce 1's. Not a hope of getting her anywhere near a sandal. She will wear those horrible adidas sliders by the pool
