Bra for ‘wide’ boobs?

Hi I’ve measured using boob or bust and always seem to be 36 gg. I’m still struggling to find a supportive comfortable bra. The main issue I have is digging in under armpit. My breast tissue seems to start under my arm almost. Looking at the fullness guides I’m not 100% but think probably full on bottom or maybe even?

can Anybody recommend a bra ideally wired with good lift and comfort? Thanks

Id consider sister sizing. What size did you used to wear? Try going down in the cup size and one band size up, or if that doesnt give you the support then id try a non wired.
If you prefer wires then boob or bust fb page might be able to suggest bras with narrower more projected cups, rather than wider set ones

i came to say the same as branleuse BUT go down in the band and up in the cup. That’s what worked for me.
as your breast tissue starts further to your sides, it sounds like you need more cup and less band.
also, have you tried a range of styles ? I like a balconette (I tend not to fill the top part of a full cup style) but specifically look out for those without a large / tell triangle but where the wires meet at the front.

Thanks I might try and get to bravissimo and try on a few different styles. I’m not sure I’d get away with a smaller band but maybe if the cup size is bigger it will even out

I have the same issue Cold and I have Fantasie Illusion from Bravissimo. They're "side sling" and the comfiest bras I've had.

What bras have you tried? Tango Panache is a wide set bra as is Elomi Matilda.
You need to size down the cups though as they both come up big.

ColdinNovember · 20/04/2022 10:09

I think I have both of those they are both, particularly the Elomi, quite diggy.

Panache for me.

This always happens to me no matter what bra and the solution I’ve found is slightly bending the bra - I’m probably not going to be able to describe it properly but if you look at a bra it’s flat isn’t it, which our bodies are not so you kind of take each wired cup and bend it slightly back from the middle so the wire then sits more against the curve of the side of the boob so it doesn’t dig in under arms.

this method had enabled me to keep a lot of bras!

I’ll see if I can find some better descriptive info!

Freya and Fantasie are generally wider set than Panache and have shorter wires. The Fantasie Fusion goes further back wire wise than the Illusion. Curvy Kate Wonderfull is another good one but I’d definitely recommend going to Bravissimo for a bigger range of options- ask for an experienced fitter.

Branleuse · 21/04/2022 12:28

i think its the length of the wires sometimes, but i have quite a narrow ribcage and big boobs, and sometimes bra wires can come up so high in the armpit it makes the bra unwearable, but the size down is too small. Its just some styles I dont get on with.
I usually get on ok with Freya bras

princessbear80 · 21/04/2022 12:52

I’m the same size and also consider my boobs wide. I wear the Fantasie Illusion. You might already be doing this, but consider lifting and moving your boobs inwards in the bra, it might make it more comfortable.

Today I’m wearing a non wired bra. It’s a sports bra from M&S. It’s definitely not supportive enough for sports, but it is comfortable and relatively uplifting. Because there are no real cups, wide boobs aren’t an issue. And it doesn’t look much like a sports bra!

Thanks all sounds like fantasie is popular. My least uncomfortable bra is fantasie so does make sense, hopefully can try on at bravissimo
