Green nail

Just had my gel polish taken off this morning and discharged one nail had a large area which is dark green. Dr Google tells me this is a bacterial infection probably caused by moistureShock
The technician seemed supremely unfussed by it but I’m not happy as I have been paying for a gel polish manicure regularly and now have a nail that looks disgusting. Is there anything I can or should do or is it a matter of just waiting for it to grow out.
It’s put me right off getting my nails done. Not had anything fancy just the gel polish but never had a clue this could happen.

I would get it swabbed at the Gp’s to check it’s not a fungal infection. If it is I recommend you get it treated (and not go back to that salon).

@Cstring ironically I’m already taking terbinafine tablets to clear a long-standing toe nail infection (don’t I sound delightful) so I think it’s unlikely to be fungal.

To be honest I was pretty shocked at the casual response of the technician so I don’t think I’ll be returning which is a shame.

You definitely need a swab to get the correct treatment.

I would not go back to that salon either. Her attitude alone speaks volumes.
