Did you feel good? I don’t want to do MOTB or trussed up in some floral shit.

What are your top tips?

Ceremony? Is this an American thing? We never had ceremonies that you could invite family to, at Uni. Why on earth would you?! Sounds cringeworthy

I had a graduation ceremony in 1083, in the UK. My parents dressed smartly, but not as if going to a wedding.

  1. I feel ancient, but I’m not a Norman.

Laughing at the poster who says graduation ceremonies are not a "thing". There was a whole industry around them in Glasgow when I graduated early 90s - special graduation photography packages, all the restaurants offering graduation set lunches for before/after the ceremony, robe hire etc etc

Agree with what everyone says re dress. Smart trousers and shirt for men - probably not tie and jacket if it's hot. Tea dress or work dress for women. No hats, no jeans, no trainers, no shorts.

I am hoping to graduate again in November next year with a Masters and my teenage DD is planning her outfit already.

Grin I couldn't go to DS's because of Covid regulations so that solved the problem of what to wear!

My daughter is graduating in the summer, I’ve bought a floral dress from hush on a fb group. I’ve booked to get my make up done, I’m really looking forward to it as she is the first on both sides to graduate so super proud

@JaneJeffer I'm gong to my dc's in the Summer. They finished their degree in 2020.

I will probably be "wearing some floral shit" though. I did when my eldest graduated
