Daily light suncream for face

I’m looking for recommendations for a daily sun cream I can apply every morning that doesn’t seem like the sun cream you put on your face at the beach. I want something really light, ideally not tinted as I just find them too creamy, also ideally not smelling of sun cream! I know the solution is to buy a moisturiser with an spf in it, but the one I use doesn’t have a range with SPF in it, and also I think I need something with more “serious” protection than that. I used to use Clinique’s city block, but I didn’t like the smell or the fact it was tinted….
Don’t want to spent loads, but happy to invest in the right thing. Thank you!

What SPF factor are you looking for? I can recommend L'oreal Revitalift Filler with SPF 50. It's an everyday moisturiser but the SPF was the selling point for me. Also use Olay Regenerist Glow SPF 30. Both are expensive (in my opinion) so I only buy then if there's an offer on. When it's overcast I just use an Olay one with SPF 15.

Also, both from the Body Shop: Skin Defence SPF 50 - this is incredibly light, very liquid so a little goes a long way. And Vitamin C Glow Protect SPF 30. Smells beautiful and goes on really well.

Aldi face cream in the red pot has spf 30

whiskeyfoxtrotcharlie · 18/04/2022 21:54

My dermatologist told me I should use La Roche Posay every single day, either the SPF 50 invisible fluid or the SPF 50 Age Correct cream.

I used to use

La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid SPF50+ Sun Cream 50ml

Bit runny but not sticky so easy to wear with makeup etc.

Now I use

Anthelios Age Correct Daily anti-ageing factor 50 facial sunscreen.

Which is more like a regular moisturiser in consistency

starsinthegutter · 18/04/2022 21:56

Meant to say, Tropic is very good!

I like Altruist ( apparently developed by a dermatologist ) SPF 50 and cheap, I buy from Amazon.
I usually wear over my moisturizer, goes on white but sinks in quickly.
Or on it’s own instead of a moisturizer at the weekend when I cba.

I second the body shop one, it's gorgeous.

Oops should have specified the vitamin c one!

This is great: heliocare.co.uk/products/heliocare-360-water-gel

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 18/04/2022 22:15

Another vote for the Aldi red pot!

littlebluetrain · 18/04/2022 22:17

I second Heliocare!

Rupertpenrysmistress · 18/04/2022 22:18

I use heliocare 360° I have oily skin and found this the best. It goes on so well and drys so that you cannot feel it in your face. Also recommend la Roche-Posay anthelios, quite runny but again does not feel greasy/oily.

elidelochanthefirst · 18/04/2022 22:21

Altruist is very reasonably priced (not suitable for darker skin, very white cast)

La Roche Posay is great

Beauty Pie do a fab one

Ultra Violette is a good one

Supergoop is also good

Ulta Sun do many - reasonably priced

Sometimes it's a bit of trial and error

ThePenIsBlue · 18/04/2022 22:21

Thanks so much! Got a few that look like they might be the ticket :)

Altruist spf 50 face fluid. Veey light and, well, fluid and not like their creams. I can wear it as a moisturiser.

whymewhyme · 18/04/2022 22:38

I got a nivea face spf 50 and honestly it's cracking, wasn't expecting much at all but its fab. Used le roche possag for years but u found it broke me out. The nivea hasn't broke me out at all it was only £6 on amazon!

Daisy62 · 18/04/2022 23:46

I love Biore Watery Gel. Really light lotion and not sticky at all. Easy to use under make up.

Alfixnm · 19/04/2022 01:28

I also find nivea facial spf very good, I use the "shine control - 0% sticky" one. It just disappears into the skin and you can't tell its there; it looks well on its own but makeup etc goes on very well over it too.

Phyllis321 · 19/04/2022 04:58

Frezyderm, which I started using after a recommendation on here. There's a tinted and untinted version. It has a lovely texture and makes your skin velvety. It's a Greek veand so they understand sun defence!

Phyllis321 · 19/04/2022 04:58

Brand

La Roche Posay is excellent, but I tried this Ambre Solaire cream, based on British Beauty Blogger‘s recommendation. It’s also excellent and is very reasonably priced - I’ve used it all weekend in the sunshine, and it works really well.
I have bought the over makeup spray too, which is great to carry around.

PAFMO · 19/04/2022 09:14

Biore watery essence 50 is the best IMO.

Otherwise, everyone now makes facial sunscreens that aren't like the white chalky body ones. I'm using a Garnier/Ambre Solaire one at the moment.

PAFMO · 19/04/2022 09:15

I also have the Frezyderm mentioned above which is a primer containing SPF50. It's really good.
