What cool summer tops are you wearing that are not tshirts?

I am feeling the heat this spring as peri-menopause has kicked in. Also feel that clingy tshirts don't suit me any more as I have a menopausal tummy. And can only wear cotton; feel sweaty in anything else though it is a bugger to iron. So looking for simple flowy cool tops without frilly yokes or puff sleeves. I had a look in a few shops but nothing appealed. Budget more H and M or Uniqlo than Cos or Arket.

Unfortunately The White Company and Boden both fund the Tory party, so neither of those is an option for me these days. Grrrrrrr

Oh dear really? Nooo!

H&m have got loads of cotton and linen shirts and tops in at the moment, oversized seems to be the style so you'd probably need to try on to get the fit you want.

These, they don't crumple although they're 100% linen.

@PuppyMonkey

Take it from someone in her mid 50s with menopausal tummy issues, the French tuck is definitely NOT a solution.Grin
100% agree I'd look like half my shirt got stuck in my knickers mid wrestle

So is it possible to wear these long shirts/blouses if you’re a shortarse like me? Saw a lovely green linen shirt in Zara but I just know it will be huge & make me look even huger. What is the answer for petites with the menopausal tummy?

I've just bought this shortsleeved linen shirt from Arket www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/shirts-blouses/product.short-sleeved-linen-shirt-green.0859554011.html - its very generously sized. And also, this roll-necked cotton shirt from Cos www.cosstores.com/en_gbp/women/womenswear/tops/product.roll-neck-tunic-top-blue.1000050007.html. Both will be worn over cropped jeans or similar and will not be tucked in, as I'm somewhat apple-shaped.

Maybe too fluttery for you ? It's got a bit of a hippie vibe.

@PlainJaneEyre That's 100% polyester though.

Last year I got a rust coloured silk top from Hobbs (but via ebay) it had a crew neck and cap sleeves and a loose fit. I have never been so comfortable in our stuffy office over summer before and I was washing and wearing it as often as I could through the hottest patches. As a bonus it is even machine washable!
