Where do you buy your t-shirts?

I’m looking to get some new cotton t shirts for the summer, and wondering where you buy yours from? I’m 44 and size 16 with a bust so I like basic loose fit but flattering square t shirts - nothing with too low a neckline or massively trendy; although I don’t mind a graphic tee.

I’ve bought from Hush before as I like the styles but don’t rate the quality. So where do you buy yours please? I’m wondering if I’ve missed somewhere online. Happy to invest if they will last! Thank you in advance.

North Face do great basic t-shirts not the cheapest but good quality

Amelion · 17/04/2022 08:05

Sunspel do great plain t-shirts in good quality cotton.

Colorful Standard also do lots of different short/long sleeve t-shirts in loads of different colours.

M&S have some good cotton ones at the moment

Fuckitydoodah · 17/04/2022 08:17

Someone was recommending Rapanui the other day. I'm going to order some from them I think. Good choice, ethical and reasonably priced. Reviews were good too.

Isonthecase · 17/04/2022 08:35

Arket to lovely basic crews and they wash well.

HulaTallulah · 17/04/2022 08:55

Hobbs and Boden both seem to last well. Oddly I've got a Tesco F&F one that is very well made.

Loughtonmum · 17/04/2022 08:59

Cos or Saltrock- the latter do some boyfriend fit ones that are loose but not too square and in soft material. I find men’s ones can be too thick/stiff/big on shoulders.

BigMamaFratelli · 17/04/2022 09:00

I've got a couple from mountain warehouse that I really like. Good fit, lightweight but not seethrough. I mean, they're not exactly high fashion but not bad as a basic tee.

Mibe are mainly from H&M

GetOffTheTableMabel · 17/04/2022 09:06

I second Arket as being good quality- no transparency to their white ones.
I had never heard of Rapanui before but have just checked them out and am going to give them a try too. Thanks for mentioning @Fuckitydoodah

I get from rapanui- they get their stock from teemill which is a bulk seller.

The quality of the rapanui ones is good for the price and organic cotton. Workers are paid a fair rate, easy to order from.

My clothes are between an 8-10 and I order the 10 so they’re not tight fitting.

Me too. I’m a tall, busty 16.

I bought 2 from cos yesterday, lovely substantial cotton. They had loads in varying necklines and lengths. They also do an off white instead of a bright white, for those who are warm toned and look better in a more cream shade.

Bagelsandbrie · 17/04/2022 13:20

I am a similar size to you and the nicest ones
I’ve found recently are from Asos - their curve ultimate organic T shirt. But - I upsize a lot to get a boxy / oversized fit, so I’ll actually go for a 22 or 24.

I have also found the odd gem in Sainsburys! Super cheap too..

DarlingCoffee · 17/04/2022 16:28

Thanks everyone! Some great ideas on here. I’m going to check them all out.

Second the M&S cotton t-shirts. Look for straight fit. I'm planning to get more this year.

Recently got nice ones from Mango and Next

Shiningstarr · 24/04/2022 19:56

I but my t shirts from Asos, mainly because I pay annually for premier delivery, so they come the next day. I haven't had a problem with quality, and they have lasted really well.

babycornforteaplease · 24/04/2022 20:04

Matalan!!!! I found the holy grail in t-shirts there, after years of searching for something that was a good length, roomy but fitted without being baggy!!
Currently adding them in all different colours and styles to my basket.

justchecking1 · 24/04/2022 20:16

I was just going to say Matalan, too! The king and the shirt sleeve are excellent quality and only about a £5
