Mature Student Graduation

What does a 40-something year old woman wear to her own graduation? I’ve only ever been to one and that was 20 years ago. I’m just over 5ft and a size 12.

I've just had my graduation two years after I finished uni. I'm 58 and a size 18. I bought myself a lovely wrap over style jersey dress from Silk Fred in red and navy, but looking at the photo's afterwards I really wish I had just gone for a plain black dress. That may be because I'm not happy with my body shape, but looking at the younger girls, I just felt that it created a nice silhouette under the gown and meant that the colours of the hood really stood out. Whatever you choose enjoy your day, it really is special.

@Lallybroch congrats! thank you, it’s a long time coming. I’m quite body conscious (and obviously so much older than everyone else on my cohort) so maybe a nice black dress would be best.
