Looking in to ski. & me and it's coming up £24.99 I'm guessing they have increased their prices as before I'm sure it was £19.99 or do I need a referral code for the lower price? If so would anybody be happy to post one? Thank you

Here’s my share link

Ponks · 15/04/2022 13:13

It is £24.99 monthly charge now , I've got a code that would give you one month free apart from the prescription fee of £3.50, MARIAW8RWF.

Okkie · 15/04/2022 13:18

Many thanks both appreciate it

I don't know if it's tretinoin you are after, but Dermatica also do a personalised formulation. I found S&M start you off on often an unnecessarily low dose (a small percentage of the 0.025 which is the usual starter dose).

Dermatica also do a low price first purchase (think its £2.99).

Okkie · 16/04/2022 11:46

Hi @CutesyUserName I've no idea what I'm after tbh! I've just completed the questionnaire on skin & me and was about to pay but haven't yet

Oh yes just read this www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/fashion-beauty/skincare/skin-me-dermatica-personalised-skincare-b1812959.html%3Famp and you're right stronger dose on dermatica

Looks like it's cheaper than s&m every month too £19.99 not £24? Happy to use a code if somebody posts one. Will be doing it later though

TheOGCCL · 16/04/2022 12:01

@Okkie Dermatica is £22.89 a month, as you pay P&P too. Having tried both I prefer Dermatica as the formula has more slip so imo goes further.

Nicolarer · 16/04/2022 12:14

Dermatica code 3LK1L2

Nicolarer · 16/04/2022 12:15

Just to say like others I stated on Skin&Me then moved to Dermatica as it is stronger. I only use it every second day and find that enough.

DoubleShotEspresso · 16/04/2022 12:22

Agree with all comments above for Skin&Me. Very tempting introductory costs, was consistently paying £19.99 a month which then leapt to £24.99 with no warning. I'm a f/t Carer on limited funds so this forced me to cancel, which was infuriating as I was only just starting to see much needed-- results. Customer service team unhelpful explaining sudden jump in costs.
I'd also agree that first few months of dosage were overly low.
Am currently seeking alternatives I can perhaps one off purchase as opposed to getting sucked into another subscription. Was using niacimude/tretonin/hyralonic acids I think?
Can these be found alone to add to a cream or something would anybody know?

EatsQuorn · 16/04/2022 12:58

@Nicolarer

Just used your code , thanks

Here's mine if anyone wants first month for £2.90 and 2nd month @19.99 but 25% off. So basically 2 months for less than price of one.

Nicolarer · 16/04/2022 13:07

Brilliant @EatsQuorn hope you find it good.

@DoubleShotExpresso I don't find you need to use Dermatica every day, so it is a good bit cheaper. I use it every second or third day or my skin gets irritated.

Okkie · 16/04/2022 14:25

This is all really helpful thanks all will use your code @EatsQuorn

For those that use it every other day what do you use on the day you don’t?

That's great to know thanks I suppose that comes from the dosage differences maybe?
bonfireheart · 16/04/2022 15:28

I found Dermatica really dried my skin out, and Skin & Me has been better for me.

elidelochanthefirst · 16/04/2022 15:45

I love Dermatica! It's been fab for me.

Code if anyone still needs one

Okkie · 16/04/2022 18:28

I've ordered dermatica. I did read about it making your skin dry but think something like cerave or welda skin good may help?

OP posts:
Purpleavocado · 16/04/2022 18:33

Both Dermatica and Skin and Me need a moisturiser after. Leave 10 mins after using the prescription to let it sink in, then use a simple moisturiser. Personally I prefer the metal skin and me applicator.

doadeer · 16/04/2022 20:38

I find welda a bit heavily scented and irritating. I use the La Roche Posay Toleriane moisturiser or if I'm really feeling dry I use their baume.

I also swear by about 4-5 drops of The Ordinary Squalene to finish off.

Okkie · 17/04/2022 08:55

Cant go wrong with la Roche posay will have a look thank you I have squalene cleanser and rosehip drops so will finish those then look to buy the squalene drops.

I saw that the s&m aluminium pump got good reviews foo. Have ordered dermatica for now.

Great. I've tried cerave too but it's nowhere as hydrating for me as LRP.

Let us know how you get on

Okkie · 17/04/2022 09:02

Thank you. Glad I posted and asked in the end. Have no idea what I'm doing re skin care. Will be asking many more questions on this board in future.

Are you on Facebook?

This is a great group for advice about Tret usage. Lots of info at the top of the group in guides too.

This is my initial prescription , is that usual and am I likely to get any side effects with it. It looks like the 4% Niacinamide will always stay the same , but for one month the Tretinoin will be 0.025 before going down to 0.005 % . ?

Tretinoin 0.015% / Niacinamide 4% lotion

Okkie · 19/04/2022 21:42

I have no idea about normal or what side effects to expect but I have just ordered dermatica and this is my prescription

Month 1: Tretinoin 0.015% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4%
Month 2: Tretinoin 0.025% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4%
Month 3: Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4%
Months 4+: Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4%

0.05 is higher than 0.025 so your dose is increasing

I have bought la Roche Posay balm as suggested by pp to help with dry skin and will see how I get on
