Hair dye patch test looks very orange

I went for a patch test earlier. I'm after a vibrant red and the hairdresser mixed a few shades together for me.

I just wiped off the patch and the dye has gone REALLY orange on my skin. Is it normal for the colour to look very different on the skin than on the hair or do I need to be worried?

I can't get a good shot because the dye is right behind my ear, but this cotton wool gives an idea of the shade.

I would say it's very normal for the dye to look different, some dyes as they develop look purple but when rinsed off look like a lovely brown etc. Reds can look shooking but turn out lovely when washed out. That's my experience anyway.
