Spring/Summer workwear to hide legs

I am petite and pear-shaped and tunic/skater-style dresses that fit closely to my shoulders and skim my hips, with tights, suit me above all else (and they're easy!). I look (and feel) uncomfortable, wrinkled, pudgy and unprofessional in trousers. What can I wear as the weather warms up? My legs are so, so veiny (even my ankles/feet are criss-crossed with blue linesI look like a map of the Mississippi Delta!) and even when shaved, I have black dots where the hairs wereI'm just not comfortable having them on display.

Are skin-toned tights really that horrible? The added benefit of tights is they create a smoothing effect over the bulgy hips, but they're hardly cool and comfy in 35 degrees...

Are there any maxi dresses that suit petite frames (I fear I'll be swamped/have a neckline down to my knees)--are maxis professional in any case? For context, I'm early 50s.

Has anyone solved this problem?

Would something like this underneath a tunic work for you?

@londonmummy1966 Not sure I could pull that off! But it's an idea...

I wear footless tights and flat shoes with dresses in summer or chub rubs under my dress if it's really hot and a very light fake tan .

@Wantubackforgood That's an idea! I'd have to find comfortable flats...

Can you wear a similar style but longer. A lot of maxi dresses can be tent like, look for ones that are fitted on top like your shorter fit and flare dresses
maybe too wintery
bit OTT on pattern but shape might work
wrap dress which is midi on model would come up maxi in petite but appreciate you may not like the wrap opening as will show legs
Similar idea but with a fitted top then a maxi skirt might be easier to get as well like this then add a blazer or skirt and matching top, looks like a dress easier on sizing

@NameChangeNameShange What a lot of gorgeous options! Especially like the ghost, despite the leg opening thing. Thank you!
