Help me style this dress for a wedding

I’ve chosen this dress for a wedding in the beginning of June. It’s flattering on and I can breastfeed in it. Just looking for some ideas for accessories. I’m a pale-ish blonde (light summer if that helps). The dress is quite long on me so I feel it needs heels but I can’t do with anything too high, plus I’m probably going to spend the day carrying my 6 month old about so want to feel comfy.

DP is an usher and DS is a pageboy so there’s likely to be lots of pics but I’m not feeling at my best post-baby so really want to look nice.

Beautiful dress. I'd go with 50s and do mid heel stilettos, slightly pointed toe, maybe in ivory. (Or kitten heel if that's too uncomfy) No necklace, pearl studs and a chunky- ish bangle or two, in any colour. And a large clutch.

Do we think these shoes would be too matchy-matchy if I had a different colour bag? I tend to like round toes better if the shoe isn’t too high (I don’t know why it just seems to suit my foot better!).

Do you think I need a jacket? I don’t think a pashmina would work and they always look a bit dowdy on me.

I think silver or pewter accessories would look great with the dress. Those shoes are fine, as long as they’re comfy! (You’ll be in them all day). Silver/metallic shoes or sandals would also look gorgeous.
The dress is going to be tricky to match to a jacket, but if you were to go with one, it would need to be shorter that fits at the waist so complement the silhouette of the dress. Alternatively, you could opt for a lovely wrap top to go over it for if it gets chilly.
Take a larger bag to leave somewhere safe with some flat ballet shoes in if you need them, and for your baby’s things. Then carry a killer clutch.
I’m sure you’re going to look fabulous. Have a great day x

Thanks! The plan is to leave a changing bag with the pram in a side room- with a pair of flats inside (I’ve got some ivory ones that should work).

I was thinking maybe a cropped blush jacket? The dress is fully lined (what a rarity!) so quite warm so I’m hoping not to need one. My other thought was lemon? I would then go with silver accessories.

This jacket could work, (especially if you lift the collar a little at the back) 😊

Blush or lemon colours would look great if this one isn’t on the right track for you. Monsoon also have options

Lovely dress! I don’t think you’ll need a jacket by June. Would you consider wedges?

The silver shoes are perfect, they're classics. I have had some like that for years and they work with everything. I don't like the jacket though, I think it will ruin the dress.

I think if I did go with a jacket it would need to have no lapel because of the wrap over front.

I love these but would they be too casual?www.asos.com/miss-selfridge/miss-selfridge-windle-wedge-in-blue/prd/24533657?clr=blue&colourWayId=60590948&SearchQuery=wedges

Maybe these would be better as they don’t have the ties? They’re not cheap though!

Where are these from, please?
MummyJ12 · 12/04/2022 16:06

This jacket could be a better option. Although again, it’s pretty pricey…..eek.

The Miss Selfridge espadrille wedges are much better than the round toed powder blue ankle strap horrors (sorry!) you posted upthread.

No worries, 😂 that was a late night flight of fancy. Cold light of day shows they’re frumpsville.

Glad not to have caused offence! The Miss S wedges will look great with the dress you have chosen.
