Moisturiser for acne rosacea?
I’m a month into soolantra at night .
Need a good moisturiser. Currently using Vanicream but it’s thick and breaks me out

I've never officially been told that it's rosacea but my face does get quite red and I started using Botanicals.... it's Soil Association certified organic and online only.... but makes a huge difference to my skin.

I've always been a bit sporadic with skincare but this stuff has a 6 month expiry once opened so it's also forced me to be better at skincare!

My rosacea is quite mild but I'm in my 60s,so my skin is quite dry. I find using a gel based moisturiser is less irritating for my skin. I use clinique moisture surge supercharged concentrate. I don't find the moisture surge any good but the supercharged concentrate is very good and non irritating.

CeraVe improved my rosacea by about 80%, it's amazing. I just use the CeraVe wash and then the cream.

Yeah unfortunately Cerave don’t agree with me

Hi I had rosacea and after suffering a while went on Soolantra and it's been the best thing I've ever done. The first month was VERY harsh on my skin, at first I thought I was having an allergic reaction to it! I do remember buying a Cetaphil thick night cream. However, I also pushed through with the Soolantra, and somehow didn't end up needing the night cream very much at all. After about 6 weeks my skin was almost fully recovered and the dryness also subsided. Carried on for about 4 months and have had no recurrences since. Hope it works as well for you. Flowers

They do a lighter one for daytime as well if that's what you need

umberellaonesie · 11/04/2022 17:00

Neutragena hydro boost.
Ren evercalm global protection cream
Drunk elephant protein peptide cream.
I also use la Roche posay cica plast on sore bits.
Make sure you are using a gentle cleanser too. I find cleansers strip my skin n really easily.
And sun screen daily

I use avene tolerance extreme with soolantra which seems to work well. The thick one at night and the thin one in the morning.

Reapandsow1 · 11/04/2022 19:47

This is the second time of doing soolantra. I did it for 4 months last year . But skin started to turn again. I was using Cetaphil night cream but wasn’t sure if it was good for day use aswell. I tried the pump one but wasn’t sure .

La Roche Posay Toleraine Ultra day and night creams worked well for me when I was using Soolantra.

LightOfAThousandStars · 11/04/2022 21:29

Another Soolantra user here, have you tried Vanicream Lotion as it's lighter than the thick cream version? Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream (fragrance free version) and QV Cream are both also great gentle moisturisers.

Reapandsow1 · 11/04/2022 21:47

How long did everyone stay on soolantra for ?

The first time i used soolantra, it was daily for 12 weeks. I noticed a huge difference after 2 weeks then it slowed down. Now I'd say I use it for 2 or 3 days every 4 months or so when my skin starts to show signs of flaring up.
