Quick Q about mascara - why can't I use it on Brows?

I have not-thick, not-thin brows, but some of the hairs are going grey. I sometimes have them dyed (along with lashes) but it doesn't last long - maybe 3 weeks.

Why can't I use my waterproof mascara on them? It comes with a handy brush and lasts all day. Is it not good for them? What is the difference between my mascara and a brow brush?

I can't see any reason why not to either, but for hygiene reasons I'd keep separate mascaras for your eyebrows than your eyelashes (or just buy one of the special brow ones - the Benefit eyebrow stuff is great 😀).

No reason why not to - you can buy 'brow mascara' if you want it in natural eyebrow shades rather than the stronger shades you get for lashes.

Have you tried it? How does it look? It's probably because most people don't have dark black long eyebrows!

I have tried it - it's a dark brown mascara so doesn't look dark black!

It makes the eyebrow hairs stick together and go a bit stiff, which is why I wonderd if it wasn't 'good' for them, maybe would 'break' them or something. i also didn't know why there are such things as eyebrow pens/gels/brushes, when we could just use mascara?

I don't use the mascara on my lashes (contact lenses) so it would be a way to use it up

If it works for you then do it. Waste not, want not as they say.

Eye brow pens aren't sticky like mascara.

My eyebrow gel makes them hard and stay in place. It's not an issue. I don't need a colour as my eyebrows are the right colour. It's clear.

Thanks everyone - i think i'll carry on just using it until i need a new one, then get a Brow specific one.

So long as I'm not harming/breaking/weakening them!
