I have been coverting this for ages.. bought it finally with birthday money from my mother.

I am in love.! My style is pretty casual/ alternative, but would be interested to hear how anyone else has styled it/ a similar tulle skirt.

I'm not usually a fan of the MN ubiquitous biker jacket but what you're wearing looks good with it. Plain t shirt rather than logo.

My first instinct re footwear would be Doc Martin style boots but that's a bit hackneyed so probably would go with ballet flats- the jacket will stop it being too Swan Lake.

WouldBeGood · 09/04/2022 10:49

Love that

Davethecat2001 · 09/04/2022 10:53

@KimikosNightmare thanks.. I did try it on with a plain black fine knit jumper too.

I'll have to get round to getting some new docs ( haven't worn them since the early 90's!), but agree they'd work.

I've been wanting this skirt for ages! Is it true to size OP

Whycantibetangy · 09/04/2022 11:09

@KimikosNightmare docs are hackneyed? Damn I just bought some!

Mind you, I’m still in skinny jeans…

Skirt is gorg and I would be flouncing around in a little tee and converse.

That works really well and I like your sneakers too. Docs would work ( except on me- too uncomfortable ) but they are the obvious choice. I think your sneakers are better if ballet flats aren't your thing

My opinion isn't worth anything !

I just think the floaty / girly dress/ skirt contrasting with the hardness of Docs is a bit overdone / lost its impact now

IamNannyPlum · 09/04/2022 11:17

You look absolutely gorgeous and I love the way that you have styled with the jacket. Maybe some black converse high tops? I also like the red converse you are wearing.

I also just have to say that your bedroom is so beautiful!

dudsville · 09/04/2022 11:21

That's fabulous and what you've done with it looks great. It reminds me of a skirt I used to wear to weddings. I always felt great in it.

balalake · 09/04/2022 11:29

It looks lovely, and I like the idea of converse trainers or DMs with them.

Davethecat2001 · 09/04/2022 11:30

@IamNannyPlum thank you! I actually ordered a pair of black Converse hi tops last night!

I have this skirt and I absolutely love it! Like you OP I am usually pretty casual so it is very different to my usual style. I tend to wear it with a plain t-shirt, biker jacket and DMs or hi-tops.

@Wizzbangfizz I went down 1 size, as per a lot of the reviews. I could possibly have gone down 2 sizes but kept the one I originally ordered.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/04/2022 15:40

Not a big fan of the skirt tbh but I think it could look good with Converse.

Wizzbangfizz · 09/04/2022 16:10

Thanks @HelloChompy my finger is hovering over the order button....

Davethecat2001 · 09/04/2022 16:17

@Wizzbangfizz I went for the 12 and it fits really well.

Some of the reviews mentioned that the waist comes up smaller than previous incarnations of the skirt.

Do it!!
WouldBeGood · 09/04/2022 17:15

I’ve ordered one too 😳

Fancy wearing it to a wedding in June, but how to style for that?

sunshinesupermum · 09/04/2022 17:18

Gorgeous! I covet skirts like this but although I never wear age appropriate clothes (am nearly 74) I rarely go out anywhere anymore so it would just stay in my wardrobe! Enjoy.

toastfiend · 09/04/2022 20:56

It looks great on you, OP!

I have it in the navy and love it. I wore it last night with a slouchy jumper, leather biker and DMs. It might be a bit hackneyed/ubiquitous, but I like it and felt good in it and quite a few people came up and told me they loved my skirt, which was nice.

I love it in the mauve colour, quite tempted by it for spring and summer!

Sofasogood1 · 09/04/2022 22:26

Lovely op but I would tuck the top in. It cuts you off at your widest point where you have it. Tuck and then fluff it around your waist. I'd wear a really fine knit slightly oversized I think. Not sure about the jacket.

Sofasogood1 · 09/04/2022 22:28

Just looked it up on the hush website and I'd wear it exactly as it is there
